This has been one of those weeks at work. My group is trying to get all the tweaks and modifications incorporated into the design that were identified as problems when we built the prototype, it seems that every stone we turn over is hiding a snake. To top it off, today we had people from our affiliate company in the plant and the boss asked me to pull up a CAD file for a meeting. The file I had spent 8 hours modifying three weeks ago was gone! I had to waste about three hours getting something close enough to show, even though it wasn't finished.
I picked up my test sample Model 70 rifle today. $200 plus tax for a $700 gun is a great deal, now I only have to figure out how to get it in the house past my wife. My wife is from Newfoundland originally, when I was telling a co-worker of my dilemma I joked that I might need to slip her a roofie to get it in the house. Then I chuckled and added, "A Newfie roofie!"
I drive to Mooresville, NC on Saturday for a benefit for "Suitcase" Jake Elder. He won NASCAR championships as a crew chief, including Dale Earnhardt's first championship in 1980. His health is failing now, the Legends group is raising money for him. I plan to have photos. |
