I’m still fighting this cold. It’s still in my head a bit but I’m also coughing more. Yesterday morning I took some 12 hour cough syrup we had in the cupboard, it worked fine but around the middle of the morning while at work I started to feel buzzed. Probably not the best thing when you work around firearms and machine guns, so today I decided to just tough it out. It’s not too bad, really.
Stepson is coming to have Thanksgiving dinner with us, which is good because he can take back some food when he goes. I got a pretty good-sized turkey breast, it was in the 8 pound range so I’m glad we’ll have some help eating it. I suppose after dinner we’ll all lapse into a food coma together. If the weather is as nice as they are forecasting I’ll probably drive over to Myrtle Beach for a day trip on Friday or Saturday. Visit the beach, walk out onto the boardwalk, hit the outlet malls, just look around and see what’s over there. I think that will be cool, I took photographs on a boardwalk over the Pacific ocean in January of this year while wearing a t-shirt, I want to take similar photos from a boardwalk over the Atlantic ocean after Thanksgiving of the same year and dressed similarly. I love this area, I can be to the ocean or the mountains in less than three hours.
I have to work Wednesday then I’ll go home to bake pies for our Thanksgiving and start smoking the turkey. Fun times. |
