I saw my doctor today and had the stitches removed. A couple of them were pretty deep and caused me to wince when they were removed, but in a way the pain was reassuring. I’ve been somewhat concerned that I felt absolutely no pain in the cut so I didn’t object to a bit of a sting. I was only away from my desk for 40 minutes total, I doubt I was at the doctor’s office more than 15 minutes. I raided the first aid chest in our shooting range when I got back to work so that I could apply some antibacterial ointment to it, there’s a tiny bit of bleeding from the sutures. The doctor said that was normal but that I shouldn’t need a bandage over it. I’ll be keeping my eye on it just to make sure it closes up properly.
The best news was that the doctor seems to think I’ll gradually get the feeling back in that fingertip! |
