We had one of our Belgian associates visiting the office last week, he spent Friday morning in the cubicle directly across from mine conversing animatedly in French. About 10 AM I dragged the headphones out and opened the music folder on our server to see what might enable me to concentrate on work without being distracted by hearing their conversation in French. I tried Alison Krauss first. Not even close. Next I tried some Springsteen. The Ghost of Tom Joad didn't work so I tried Darkness on the Edge of Town. Still not enough. Hmmmm, let me see what might work... Aha, Alice Cooper! That did the trick!
The weekend was pretty lazy. I only left the house Saturday to fill the GTO with gasoline and get a money order from the Post Office, the rest of the day I organized and cleaned. I settled in to watch the NASCAR race from Richmond in the evening. We did more of the same Sunday, then after eating frozen pizza for lunch we got out to browse some auto dealerships and pick up some catfish for dinner this week. I went upstairs to sort some things for my eBay auctions this week then basically vegetated the rest of the evening. |
