I picked up my .45 semi-auto pistol today. They decided to reduce the friendly, employee pricing on these engineering test guns so I got it for $100 plus tax. Can’t beat that for a nice, high-quality .45 semi-auto pistol. My ammo arrived yesterday so I’m good to go. I’ll post a photo later also.
My wife managed to drive yesterday for the first time since her knee surgery. I suppose to be accurate she drove Sunday, she felt badly about my having to work extra hours to make up for all the time I was losing taking her to her appointments so Sunday she tried driving around the neighborhood and yesterday she drove herself to the physical therapy appointment alone. No problems with the driving, although she’s still in a lot of pain. I hope the doctor can give her some idea of how long it will continue when he examines her next week. Anyway, her driving means that I’m back to driving the old work beater Monte Carlo to work. The “Low Coolant” light started flashing just after her surgery, one of the reasons I parked it for the duration of her recovery and drove her car instead. I had verified the reservoir was topped off to the proper level but Sunday I went out and cracked open the radiator cap and the small bleeder valve that purges air from the coolant. The radiator was full to the top with coolant and when I cracked the bleeder and started the engine it shot coolant like a severed artery so it must be a bad sensor. I’ll be glad to get rid of that pile, I hope we can get her another car this winter and I’ll take hers as my work car. It will be almost 8 years old by then but will still have less than 60,000 miles on it.
