Happy birthday to me. I turned 51 years old today, which means I probably own socks that are older than most of the people reading this LOL!
It rained and stormed almost all weekend, I got up ungodly early for a Saturday to drive an hour north and meet a friend to attend a model car show/contest/swap meet with him. The show was fantastic, lots of entries and the quality of the work was amazing. It was well worth missing sleep over!
By the time we got back to the meeting place where we had left my car it was raining buckets, I got drowned going from one car to the other. I took my outer shirt off and used it to dry my hair then drove home in my t-shirt. It was dry when I got home, but not for long. It stayed damp and rainy all weekend, storming into the night last night. This morning was cold, it got all the way down to 47°F (8°C) and as I type this at 2:00 PM it’s only 63°F (17°C). Most unseasonably cold, it could be the coldest birthday I’ve celebrated.
My plans for the remainder of the day are to survive work until 5:00 PM then go home and take advantage of the cool weather to mow my front lawn. The heat of last weekend, combined with the weekend rains have made the weeds shoot up like crazy and if I don’t knock them down I’ll get a nastygram from the Homeowners’ Association. Nazis!
