After waking up Lydia and I had some breakfast before mining all of the ore we could carry. I should make a fair amount for gold from this adventure.
Upon returning to Whiterun, I sold a lot of the items I found in Halted Stream Camp and went to Dragonsreach to claim the bounty. Preventus rewarded me with 360 gold coins.
I gave Ysolda the mammoth tusk and she was delighted. She taught me a few things about bartering so now I shouldn't get robbed by shop keeps.
I thought I'd treat myself so I have bought some leather armor. It isn't as good at keep out the cold like my fur armor was but it should protect me from swords and daggers a little better. I also got myself a new Imperial Bow.I spoke to the priestess Danica about the Gildergreen tree in the town and she has asked me if I could retrieve a weapon called Nettlebane from Orthan Rock. She said that there are Hagravens there so I would have to be careful if I decide to go.
While I was inside the temple. I had Danica bless me. I felt it was a good time to do so as it is the Mid Year Celebration. After I was blessed, I decided to try and find Amren's family sword. I heard a rumor that it may be at Redoran's Retreat.
Whilst heading to Redoran's Retreat, I heard a load explosion come from the skies. As I looked up I saw something falls from the sky screaming. It crashed in to a near by house. I went inside the smoking remains of the house and found a strange orb with what looks like an orange eye talking about "space". I don't know if that mean it wants some space or something else entirely. I decided to take it with me. As I picked it up, it said "Wanna go home". I wonder if I should try and find where this came from and return it.As I crossed a bridge towards Redoran's Retreat, an Argonian stopped me and tried to sell me some skooma. I told him that I don't touch that stuff and that he was a fool to take it himself. He did't like that and attacked me. Luckily he was a skooma addict and was weak. I ended his life quickly.We got to Redoran's Retreat and had to fight out way through some bandits to get to where the sword was kept. After finding the sword, Lydia thought the we should wait for the rain to pass before we go back to Whiterun and I agreed. We sat around the campfire the bandits had set up and had some supper. We talked for a while and I am starting to think that there is more to Lydia than a just a Housecarl. I'm really starting to enjoy her company.
By the time we got back to Whiterun, it was nearing midnight so we decided to get a couple of rooms at the inn for the night and return the sword in the morning. After a few tankards of mead, Hulda the innkeeper told me of another bounty the Jarls men had dropped off. Looks like I may have something to do tomorrow. |
