This morning I was hunting near the border of Cyrodiil and a group of Stormcloaks came out of nowhere. All of a sudden we were ambushed by Imperials and captured. I was stripped of my gear and was given some rags to wear. I tried explaining that I wasn't with the Stormcloaks but they would not listen. I was put on a cart with a horse thief, one of the Stormcloak soldiers and non other than Ulfric Stormcloak himself.
We traveled for a long time and I fell alsleep but when I woke I found we were nearing Helgan. The soldier (Ralof, as I found out) said that we were headed for execution. I was surprised as I was just hunting near the border which isn't illegal. As it turned out the Imperials didn't care why I was there, they were going to execute me any way.
The Horse thief tried to run but was shot down in a hail of arrows. They then lined us up near the chopping block. When they called me over, I will admit I was scared, I just closed my eyes and hoped it wouldn't be to painful. I was lucky, a dragon of all things saved my life by attacking Helgan. Ralof picked me up and we ran to the nearest tower. We quickly made our way through Helgan keep and I managed to get my gear back.
We decided to make our way to Riverwood where Ralof's sister lives to decide what to do next.
After meeting with Gerdur (Ralof's sister) and her husband Hod. We decided I should go and inform Jarl Balgruuf in Whiterun about the dragon and ask for aid to be sent to Riverwood. After Gerdur gave me some food, Ralof said I should join the Stormcloaks, and I think I may if I end up near Windhelm.
I went and bought some supplies from the store and was asked by the shop keep if I could find his golden claw statue which was stolen. I agreed to keep an eye out for it before heading to Whiterun.
As I got closer to Whiterun, I saw three people fighting a giant. I decided to help and after we defeated the brute, one of them, called Aela, said I would make a good Companion and suggests that I see about joining. I have heard good things about the Companions and what they do so I may look in to that.
I made it to Whiterun and went right to Jarl Balgruuf to tell him about the dragon. He immediately sent troops to Riverwood. He then asked me to help his Court Wizard, Farengar, in a matter regarding dragons.
Farengar wants me to go to Bleak Falls Barrow to find something called the Dragonstone. I don't know how this will help in the way of defeating dragons, but I agree to do it any way.
I decide to go to Bleak Falls Barrow in the morning and get a bed for the night at the local inn. After a meal of stew and wine I fall asleep, thinking of the eventful day I have had. |
