Mirena

07/10/2009

Well I am in the process of uploading a couple pictures so they will be at the end of this entry. I started a shutterfly account because I have been collecting these Gifts To Grow points from Pamppers since Brady was born and I finally cashed some in. I redeemed them for 200 4 x 6 prints from shutterfly. I am pretty excited because I havent printed out pictures for Brady's album since LAST SUMMER! and I need to start one for Evan. And this will save me from spending about $70 printing them out at walmart lol.
Ok holy crap shutterfly is taking forever to upload these pictures!! It says the time remaining is 26 minutes! WTF its only about 20 pictures! I never had that problem with webshots.
Anyways about the title. I have an appointment today to get a Mirena IUD put in. I am pretty excited about it because my insurance is going to cover it 100% all I have to pay is a copay! That is going to save me tons of money on birth control. We dont know if we want anymore kids, if we do have another we dont want to start ttc for like 2 years, so this Mirena is a great option. Also one of the perks of it is you may not get a period with is. that would be NICE! I dont get one now since I am breastfeeding but once I stop it would be awesome not to have to deal with that! On a side note I dont know what I am going to do with the kids while I am at the appointment. I thought my mom was off today but she picked up a shift, and my sister said she could watch Brady for me while I went but she is going to the pool with a friend of my moms who has a 3 year old and I dont know if I want her watching my nephew and Brady it might be too much for her at the pool. I would rather have a man on man defense if they are at the pool rather than 2 people watching 3 kids under 3. Plus my nephew is a handful he will just run off and I dont want her to have to chase him and Brady be left standing there. As of right now I am planning on taking them both with me but I dont know if my double stroller will fit in the exam room. Aaron wont be home from work in time either. Hopefully my sister will be done at the pool by the time my appointment comes and I can just drop him off with her at the house.
Everything else here is good thought. Evan had was at the doctor the other day and at 5 weeks he weighted 13 lbs 14 oz! he is right on the same weight track that Brady was. He is already wearing 6 months in one piece outfits and onsies. He can still wear some 3 month stuff but it is getting tight on him lengthwise.
Oh god damnit so I didnt know you couldnt share pictures from shutterfly!! motherf-er! alright well I am uploading them to webshots now so hopefully this wont take a damn hour!!!!!!!

omg it is slow upload day what the hell is going on here.....

I guess I will just cruise around on facebook until this is done.

ALRIGHT FINALLY!!!

You are getting the non-hormonal one right? Otherwise your milk is very likely to dry up, I don't want to sound condescending but a lot of women don't realise and some have doctors chose to lie and say that it doesn't effect supply.

Transit - Mirena is hormonal.
Also, I have Mirena, and I'm not very happy with it. I've had weight gain, horrible mood swings, headaches, etc. Also, I've had mine for 2 years now - so this isn't just the initial cramping that I've dealt with.
I want mine OUT.. but I have no insurance, and I can't afford the full cost of having it taken out just yet.
There are also several websites about Mirena - class action law suits, etc. Do some research before your appointment today.

Also, I would strongly advise finding someone to watch your kids.
It takes a good 15 minutes of you laying still and of the DR having to concentrate on what she's doing.
Also, I would take 800mg of Ibuprofen, and I'd contemplate having someone drive you home. :\ Mine was AWFUL.
Let me know how it goes!

Transit is full of crap... as usual.

I have Mirena, which IS the hormonal one. This is the SECOND time I have had it and it has never effected my supply. I love it. Goodluck!

I wish I collected points like that for free stuff. There are always deals on everything and I pass them up! Also, that Mirena sounds great, especially with your insurance covering it!

I just got Mirena about a week and a half ago. You're lucky that you have insurance to cover it. I had to pay for mine and it cost almost $400.

oh my lord, your little guys are so adorable! I love where they are sat side by side with those t-shirts - too cute, too cute! And in the 5th picture down Evan looks a lot like Brady I reckon, especially his eyes! He's such a chubster though bless, absolutely thriving off the mummy milk obviously! And Brady is so tall now and not at all a chubster anymore! He's going to be a pretty well built guy though, I can imagine them both playing for sports teams when they're older!

How's Brady adapting, if you don't mind me asking? I'm getting quite nervous now, wondering how Ben is going to be when this little fella comes along. Did Brady accept Evan pretty well or is it an ongoing process? Is there any signs of rivalry at all? I don't mean to be nosy... just curious!

Hope your feeling well. That's awesome about the implant and insurance covering it. Hope the boys are good for you at the doctors if you have to take them both along... I bet every outing has to be planned with military precision now there's two! Take care of yourself hun and enjoy your photo's! (Reminded me I should really print some off myself!).
