Are you planning on having Cukiee spayed after this litter? The reason I ask is because you said that you're rather inexperienced and I wouldn't want poor Cukiee in danger (not to mention an abundance of pups who might not find good homes)
It was simply a curiosity because you admitted to your inexperience--it was an honest question, not a suggestion. Your reply could have been a number of answers:
- no it's too expensive.
- no I don't believe in it.
- no (reason xyz)
- yes, I've been saving up for it
- yes, but she got pregnant first
- I prefer not to discuss it (end of sentence)
you also could've gone into detail about your plan for the puppies, but instead you just came across as defensive. Now I plan on thinking of those puppies as fertilizer because you obviously don't know what you're doing.
My best advice to you is to take her to the vet or buy a book about prenatal care for dogs. Dogs are just like humans in that they need proper nutrition and health care during their pregnancies. Also I know my veterinarian allows patient owners to post flyers in his clinic of puppies and pregnant dogs as a way to find home for the pups after they're weaned. Maybe your veterinarian will do the same?
