Military respects

08/29/2011

I do want to discuss more though. I want to discuss the military. I have been reading for months abotu protesters at grave sites of military families putting their loved ones to rest. This very much upsets me. Not because I support the war, in fact, I have chatted with many men and women about this subject. The war anyway! Most don't approve of it but they understand their job and the reason they must do it.

One soldier told me, "The best thing that we could do is just blow them all up if we wanted to do something at all."
Here is the sad reality the war is horrible. Death, pain, fighting, hate and the truth war brings suck! No one wants to go through what these people go through. Not just the soldiers and their families but the people we fight. War isn't alwaysabout right or wrong, without doubt, most of the time it is about beliefs. This war is no different, we all believe in something, whether we want to admit it or not.

The soldiers believe they are doing their job. They believe that what they do brings honor and brings respect. The men and women overseas, that we fight against, believe they are fighting for their 'God' and that this brings about a holiness and purity. Is this right? No, murder has no place in God's eyes. However, my God and their 'God' are not the same.

To those people who choose to go to grave sites and torture the families and soldiers standing around the graves of the dead, they should feel shame. The bible they claim to read and believe in talks about war. It talks about the necessity of war, that as horrid as it is and can be, God uses it. Yes, it is the result of sin but God has always used these events for himself. Jericho, Gideon, Rome's fall.....ect.

Each of these are extremely significant to the Christian faith, why becuase they teach us of God's power and glory. More than that as this church goes to these sites, they dishonor their faith. God tells us to 'speak truth in love'. The protestors speak truth out of hate. Who do they hate? The very God who designed war to show his will.

The protesters go to these graves and make the awful reality of why they are there. Remember pain, sorrow, hurt, and hate? That is exactly what these families go through. They are mourning the death and trying to work through what has occured. Lets not mention the soldiers standing there watching and hearing this. They have to live this, remember what happened, and feel the pain everywhere.

STOP HURTING THEM AND REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE! we all have hate in us, don't let the hate take control.
