Enticing Women Leading to Pain and Death

08/04/2011

Samuel was in his first job out of college and the beginning of his career.  He was beginning a new journey pursuing God and moves into a new apartment.  Little did he know that the beautiful woman next door would be a hindrance to getting where he wants to be and needs to be in life.  Making this long story short, he got involved in a sexual relationship that he should not have gotten into.  The woman was a beautiful and enticing woman.  On some level, he knew in his head and his heart that this is not a relationship he should’ve gotten into.  However, he gave into his base male desires and got involved with this woman. Little did Samuel know how far he is about to fall.

As it turned out, that woman was married but separated from her husband.  She was not legally divorced yet.  She kept all this from him.  She never told him, but he found out through the grace of God.  It took a lot for him to get out of that mess. Getting into such a relationship (which was sweet and nice in the beginning) is easy.  Getting out was tough.  When he suggested to break it off, she attempted suicide.  She was pretty much blackmailing him with suicide. Getting out of that one took three to six months of tremendous effort, caution, and guile.

Although the fact that she was still married made it forbidden, that was a forbidden relationship even if she wasn’t married.  Her being married just made it so much worst.

Although he suffered long lasting damages from this relationship, it wasn’t as bad as it could potentially have been.  Looking back, he knew that he could’ve gotten into the “Promised Land” (God had for his life) back then already, if he had not fallen into that forbidden relationship.  After that relationship, Samuel stayed in no-man's land for the next four to five years.

My lesson of “chocolate-coated feces” applies to this type of relationship.  This metaphor is a bit disgusting, but that’s why this metaphor will very effectively get through to you, and remind me strongly when I am tempted (which is the case now).  The metaphor of chocolate-coated feces definitely applies to this type of relationship Samuel had, although it also applies to other circumstances in life. I don’t know if you are a chocolate lover, but I am.   Imagine a big brown piece of your favorite chocolate and you take a bite into it.  Hmmm, the sweet chocolaty taste.  Yes, imagine that vividly.  Taste that chocolate.  Beneath the hard chocolate outer surface is a softer creamier chocolate layer.  However, little do you know that beneath that soft chocolate layer is a feces core with the same brown color and texture.  The first few bites into the whole piece were nice and sweet, but little did you know the long term misery and damage to come from the later bites, when you bite into the feces core.

After eating such a feces core, not only is it just awful, but it causes long term damages such as making you sick.  You could get chronic diseases such as hepatitis.  Little did you know that you would suffer such long term damages when you first bit into that enticing tasty chocolate in the beginning.

It's the same with a sinful relationship.  It is nice and sweet in the beginning, but you will surely suffer damages in the long term.

The best thing for you to do is not even take that first bite, as enticing as it may be.

By the way, I am Samuel.  I wrote in the second person because I may actually post this on my Facebook.
