It was nine o’clock when Bryce got everything done and headed to Dalila’s. He wanted to talk to her about what was going on between them but he wasn’t sure how to bring it up. The truth was that Bryce had never felt this way about anyone before, not even Sarah, who had been the most important person to him since eight grade. There was something different how they were together now. Even before the sex happened he supposed, even though his eyes weren’t open to it. Walking into the house tonight was a little nerve wracking for him.

Dalila was sitting on the couch by herself, studying. How cute. Her nose was slightly wrinkled and her hair was up in a messy pony tail. To him, she was beautiful sitting there in a tank top and he thought she probably has shorts on underneath the blanket. He knocked lightly on the wall with his knuckles and walked in, sitting next to her.

“Still studying?” She shut her book quickly and looked at him.

“You know me, I’m a die hard.” in a dry tone but a grin on her face.

“Yea” he chuckled “how’s that workin’ for ya?”

“Eh, ok I suppose. I got my acceptance letter from PA art and design… my parents think I should just go ahead with them…”

“Wow, that’s awesome D! That’s a good school.”

“It is, it’s awesome… but I really want to see about U of M before I decide… Like I said earlier, they are my school of choice.” she explained and Bryce just nodded. “I love it here, but… I want to experience more life, ya know?”

“Yea, yea.. I understand.” His face looked long and the light had gone out of his eyes. I think I hurt him…

“You ok?”

“Yea, I’m good” he smiled. Dalila had the sudden urge to kiss him again but she wasn’t sure if that was something she should do so instead she just started playing with her text book. He took the book and flipped it open to where her papers were sticking out.

“Oh, don’t open…” her sentence was cut short when he opened it.

She reached her hand out to grab it from him as he lifted the paper. A smile grew across his face as he read it and her face burned hot. It was pros and cons of staying in Pennsylvania or going to Michigan. He was happy to see that name was reason number one, with hearts drawn around it. He looked up at her, her face was bright red, even her ears were a dark pink.

“I uhm…” she paused. “You weren’t supposed..” she stopped again. “Say something please.” she pleaded.

“I like your reason to stay here.” he whispered. D looked up at him, eyes wide.

“I know that it was just supposed to be the one time thing, and then it was a two night thing, and now… it’s just weird.” her hands rolling around, talking fast. “I don’t know if you feel like I feel, but I feel… well, I don’t know how I feel and it wasn’t supposed to be like this. I really thought that we could just go back to being D and Bry… and now, I mean.. we are D and Bry, but it’s a different us. Ya know? And I just don’t know..”

Without giving her a chance to finish her sentence, he pressed his lips to hers. Smoldering the flames between them and putting Dalila at ease. He pulled her close to him, lifted her up to sit on his lap and deepened the kiss.
