Thank God It's Over

Thank God It's Over!
First of all I'd like to start by saying thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of me and my family through all this and I would like to let you all know that Isabel is just fine and at home where she belongs!! We arrived at the hospital right on time, and they didn't waste our time at all. They took us right back and explained the situation. They took some ultrasounds of her heart, did an EEG and then gave us our three procedure choices. The first was the regular cath that they use all the time, the second was the experimental cath which they'd only used once and the third was open heart surgery. Needless to say we went with the regular cath that they use on a regular basis. Unlike what I thought however they did not close the artery they had to implant a device in her heart that blocked the artery which she will always have and will always have to carry a card for. I was very happy however because not only did they NEVER take her from my arms until it was time for the procedure but instead of giving her a million IVs they gave her an anesthetic liquid by mouth and allowed me to administer it and to hold her until it had taken complete affect. They then told us the procedure would take about two hours and that they would keep us informed of her condition hourly. Immediately after they took her back to begin the procedure John and I went outside to smoke a cigarette and then go get something to eat out of the cafeteria. By the time we arrived at the cafeteria however they had closed, at which point they told us we could only get something to eat at the pastry/coffee counter around the corner so thats where we headed. While we were at the display case picking out what we wanted to eat a woman named Marie who was one of the CEO's of the hospital got in line behind us and heard us talking about Isabel. When I went to pay for our order she wouldn't let us and used her CEO employee card to pay for our food instead telling me that she was "planting a seed" and that we "had enough to worry about." I was so touched that all I could do was stand there and cry, but all she did was smile and walk away refusing to give me her last name so I could recommend her on one of those caught in the act of caring cards. We talked for a while, smoked another cigarette and before we could get back up to our room Grandma June texted me to let me know that they had updated saying that Isabel was doing perfect and they were about to insert the device into her heart! About forty five minutes later they came to us telling us that they were taking she was done and would be returned to us shortly. Ten minutes later my little girl was in my arms and already starting to wake up. The real miracle though was that for the past year her heart beat has felt like a little birds and for the first time I was able to feel her heart and receive a completely NORMAL heart beat! Isabel was supposed to lay still for three hours but the anesthesia couldn't keep her down, she wanted to play. So we held her as still as possible and let her play with some toys until she tired herself out to much and vomited, at that point we made her lay back down and she went right back to sleep. About two hours later they did a few xrays to make sure that the device was still in place, which came back picture perfect then handed us our discharge papers! We were home by 4:30 that afternoon. THANK GOD MY BABY IS SAFE!!

When we got home all three of us crashed, and it would have been a very peaceful sleep until John and I heard this horrible popping electrical noise. We sat bolt upright in bed to find our bedroom wall in flames RIGHT BESIDE Isabel's crib..John went for the fire I went for Isabel. Thankfully we were able to get her out of the room and the fire put out immediately but it scared me none the less...so Isabel is at Grammy's house until the landlord comes and fixes the short in the electric socket which caused the fire. We have the breaker turned off to that wall but I'm not taking any chances! Needless to say it has been a very busy two days and I am so thankful that they are over! Until later I'm outtie, ciao and Blessed Be!

Random:
I'm glad everything worked out, both at the hospital and with the fire. I wouldn't stay there until it was fixed either, even with the breaker off.

Amazing and scary thing all at once. I am so glad that she's doing okay and that it went well. Open heart surgery is no fun and I'm glad they could fix it with a regular cath. I'm also glad that they were able to let you stay with her. That woman was just an amazing woman. It speaks volumes to me to know that there are still caring people like that in the world.

RYC: I sent my Aunt a nice lengthy email last night, basically asking her why she had this sudden aversion to anything related to the wedding. I acknowledge that she's upset regarding the fact that she feels I was deceived by Bill and his family re: the ceremony ;; but there's nothing I can do about that now and it's just time to get married so we can get this part of our life behind us. I still want to enjoy my wedding day and while I may not agree with 100% of the ceremony, I still want to enjoy it with my friends and family! Most of all, my Husband!!

A lot of my family isn't sure why Bill & I are having the big wedding. We got legally married in October and to them, that's enough. But we wanted the big party, the celebration with our families, etc. That was important to us, and we didn't do that.

I wonder how some people feel, since Bill and I are legally married but only immediate fam. and friends know ;; and we're having a baby. LoL. I wonder if they thinhttp://www.bloopdiary.com/k we "oops"'d before the wedding, if that's the case, NOPE lol We wanted it

Awww! That's so great that Isabel is doing great now, & that hospital staff sounds amazing. That's so sweet of that nurse to pay for your food.

I'm glad everything worked out & you guys are doing better, now.

Take care.
