Taxes..Yuck
So I went and did my taxes Tuesday...goodness knows we need the money. Anyway I found out that I was entitled to almost 5,000 dollars!! Needless to say I was very happy, but of course things can never stay good for me! I was turned down for the same day tax refund so they set me up to receive it within three days on an H&R Block Emerald card. The day before the money was supposed to arrive however I get a phone call from the girl who did my taxes telling me that my return has been with held due to a debt and that I would have to call some number to find out about my debt and about how long it would be before I received what was left of my refund after the debt was paid. Turns out that the college loan I owed put an offset on my taxes takin about 2000 dollars out of my returns. Meaning that I'll only get about half of what I was expecting and that it will be another two weeks before I get a dime! THEN on top of that I went and let my dumb self get scammed by a text message and am going to have to get a new card. I received a text saying that my wachovia account had been frozen...I don't have a wachovia account but I knew that my tax return was supposed to be coming from a bank so I called the number provided to see what in the world was going on and how they got my number. Well when I called the number it asked for my card number as verification of my identity so i put it in and as soon as it had the info it wanted the automated system hung up the phone...obviously all they wanted was my card info...so I had to call H&R Block..explain the whole embarrassing situation and get them to mail me a new card. BUT the card won't arrive for 10 days which gives this scammer 10 days to figure out some way to screw up the current card I have! I just have to hope that maybe I didn't give the system all the info it needed and they wont be able to get to my money...I'm just glad my money wasn't on the card yet otherwise they could have taken my whole return right then and there!
Anyway I am babysitting my next door neighbors daughter Hope right now (shes in bed ) because my neighbor went with John to the hospital. I think John broke his thumb today at work, and I've been hurting so bad today because the baby has fully dropped that I couldn't face going and sitting in the hospital for hours on end. Thank goodness I have such a wonderful friend as my next door neighbor Maron..he's awesome. As I was saying though..John may have broken his thumb...he told me earlier today that he'd hit it with a hammer and that it was hurting but he made it sound on the phone like he's just knicked it and that it was fine. When he got home though and I was able to look at it in the light not only was it black and blue but it was crooked!! Well I know theres not a whole bunch they can do for a broken finger but I also know that the last thing John needed was for that thumb to heal crooked the way it was so I insisted that he turn his butt right back around and head off to the hospital. So right now I'm just waiting for him to call me and let me know what the verdict is on his finger.
Well I feel like I'm ending this entry on a slightly unfinished note but thats really all I want to talk about right now..I have more I could talk about but I just don't feel like going into it right now!
