11/30/2014

Time: 11:01am

State of Being: blegh. feeling the effects of partying too hard

Song lyric in my head: you can do things my way
current desire:to not be so easily influenced by alcohol.

where am I?: in the living room on the couch

what's that noise?: the ac just turned on. it's drowning the noisy neighbors outside

29. What is the best advice you ever received?

When I was a sophomore in college, I remember whining to my then roommate, Alison, about not being able to find love. It was one of the only things in life I wasn't happy about. I was working hard in school, trying to earn my degree to eventually have a successful life. And all I wanted was a guy. She told me "Somebody is going to fall madly in love with you one day." And it stuck with me. Kept me going through all my other relationship dramas. And now here I am. Married to the love of my life.

30. Would you like to be famous? Why or why not? What would you like to be famous for?

Yes. Absolutely. It's a goal I'm still attempting to achieve. When I was little, I wanted to be an Olympic Athlete. In college, I wanted to be an Oscar Winner. (still do. optimism is awesome. lol) And now I want to be a famous published author. I write because I love doing it. And why not share it with the world and have people love it too?

Woo-hoo!! NoJoMo victory!!!

so yesterday was Dennis and Carolina's wedding... and I drank way too much for my own good. I feel really guilty, because Russ had to take care me. It happens when I start drinking. I just don't stop. I get addicted to the adrenaline rush and the loads of fun I'm having and forget that more alcohol does not mean more fun. It means feeling gross and sick and inconveniencing my amazing husband.

But despite the annoying end of the night, the whole day was so much fun. I'll write about it later. I'm having brain problems now. lol Plus the neighbors outside are loud and obnoxious and sound like they're killing each other again.

peace!

I totally know what you mean about drinking.

I think the best advice, or rather statement, someone made to me was my supervisor when I was about 17 --- I was complaining about being passed over for a promotion and telling him how I deserved it more (I did) and that it wasn't fair --- he looked at me, straight faced and said, "boy, who ever told you life was going to be fair? Back to work." ----that one sure has stuck with me.

Fortunately over the years I have learned to control my alcohol intake but it took a long time and too many times getting sick
