iii. Rollin' on a River

So about a week ago my friend who happens to bartend at a prestigious gentlemen's club and I were commenting back and forth on FB... I happen to mention that she should mention to the owner that I am available for social media services and event planning, etc. I said it half joking half serious...

But much to my surprise on Wednesday she calls me out of the blue and tells me that the owner wants me to come up to speak with him. ughhh.... I was literally bedhead and sweatpants fabulous at the time so I quickly got ready and headed up there.

At first, I thought I was going to pitch about social media but the conversation quickly turned to marketing and event promotion/appearances... which holy cow, I thought I might have been a little out of my element when in all actuality... I realized I had quite a bit of knowledge on the subject and seriously can do it.

Why the hell not?

It only makes sense that if the "professional world" refused to give me a chance that I flex my muscles in an area that while might be a little taboo, gives me the opportunity to show my skills and build my resume.

I once heard a story about a sound operator who moved to California to try and break into Hollywood was having a really difficult time finding professional work. His buddy had offered him a gig doing the sound for some porn productions... now this very same sound operator has worked on major films like the Transformers...

There's an opportunity here to make something and quite possibly find a way to do this remotely...

I also had someone message me on Facebook that owns an email marketing company where all of his employees work remotely. While email marketing is not my expertise, he offered to look over my resume and possibly give me some suggestions as to where I could look for remote work.
