I woke up at dawn and found that Lydia had climbed in to my bed roll in the night. I didn't make a fuss about it but when she woke up and saw me she blushed quite a lot.
After fighting our way through giant spiders, we made it to the chamber that contained the horn, or at least it should have. In it's place was a letter telling me to go to Riverwood and ask for the attic room in the Sleeping Giant Inn. I should be cautious because who ever this person is must be either very strong or very crafty.
We went back to Marthal to take a carriage to Riverwood. It was a long journey but at least now we can find out who it was that took the horn.
We asked for the attic room when we got to the inn but it turned out the didn't have one and I was directed to another room. After sitting down the inn keeper, Delphine, entered the room and said that she knew I was the Dragonborn and gave me the Horn. She then asked me to follow her and she led us to a secret room. She asked Lydia to wait outside while we talked and she did so, grudgingly. She didn't seem to like the idea of me going in to this room alone with another woman.
After entering the room, Delphine told me that she was part of an old order of warriors known as the Blades, who's soul duty was to hunt and kill dragons. She also told me that she thinks dragons are coming back to life and has asked me to go to Kynesgrove to kill a dragon she thinks is going to be resurrected. I agreed to go with her.
I filled Lydia in on what she had said and we went on our way.
As we left the inn, a courier stopped me to give me a letter. The letter was from Jarl Sidgear and he has asked me to go see him in Falkreath. I will go when I get the chance.
We took a carriage to Kynesgrove and found that the dragon that attacked Helgan was up near the burial ground resurrecting the dragon buried there. It was a strange sight to behold.
After the dragon had fully resurrected, The bigger dragon told it to attack us. We took it down with relative ease and I absorbed it's soul. Delphine thinks that the Thalmor might be behind the dragons coming back to life and wants to go in to their embassy. She has asked me to meet her back in Riverwood as soon as I can so we can figure out how to get in.
Lydia and I decided to stay at the inn for the night before going back to Riverwood. She has been quite quiet all day but seems to have perked up a bit now that Delphine has left. |
