Malborn was already in the dining area when we woke. He has told me that he can smuggle my equipment in to the embassy for me. I feel strange with out my bow but I'm sure he will keep it safe for me. I must go and meet Delphine at the solitude stables now for the next part of the plan. I still don't know how I am going to get in after all.
Delphine has managed to get hold of an invitation for the party so I can just walk in through the front door. She has even given me some clothes to wear because mine were dirty.
I arrived at the embassy just as another guest arrived, Razelan was him name. He seemed like an odd fellow but I don't think he will cause any problems.
As I entered the building a High Elf called Elenwen greeted me but not knowing who I was, she asked me a few questions. Luckily, Malborn was quick minded and interrupted her and she left.
I spoke to Malborn under the guise of getting a drink and he said I should cause a distraction so I can sneak away. Luckily Razelan was sitting alone on a bench and he asked me to get him a drink because he had been cut off. I agreed to get him one if he caused a scene and Malborn managed to sneak me in to the kitchens while Razelan was distracting everyone.
All of my equipment was in a chest by a door. Now that I am back in my armor, I feel much better.
I have found what I was looking for. As it turns out, the Thalmor don't know anything about why the dragons are coming back either. They also have dossiers on Delphine, Ulfric Stromcloak and a man named Esbern. I have decided to take these with me because they might be important.
While escaping the embassy I found a torcher chamber in the basement. They had a man shackled up so I helped him escape. He has shown me a hatch were the Thalmor dump body but it is locked. I'll look around and see if I can find a key.
While looking for the key, some Thalmor came in to the room and announced that they knew I was there. They had captured Malborn. I tried to save him but they cut his throat before I could. After defeating them I found the key to the trap door on one of their bodies.
The trap door led to a frost troll's lair and I stumbled across one while it was eating. It was angry that I had disturbed him and attacked. With out Lydia, I must admit that it was a tough battle but I bested it in the end.
I got back to Riverwood and it was very late so Delphine said I should sleep before we talk about what I found. |
