653 redsox honor the militia and 1 week till AZ 9 6 2014

I went to the RedSox game last night and it was a bit unexpected. I found out last week that my sister’s team, the Boston Militia were being honored-recognized for their achievement in bringing home a championship.

I bought two bleacher tickets Thursday morning. Posted on FB, asking who wanted to go with me. I went to work and when I got back to my computer, it was decided that my cousin Jalen would be going with me. This…would be interesting. Going with my 15 year old ADD cousin.

Hmm skip writing about the transportation arrangements… my dad ended up driving to the game. We went to the ticket window and got the tickets. It was pretty close to game time so I wanted to be in the stadium, field side when they honored the Boston Militia. So we went down to the front row of the bleachers. They first honored the Rhoadisland little league team, for making it to the LLWS. Then they honored the Boston Militia. “we would like to welcome the Boston Militia who won the WFA chamoionship, going undefeated and beating San Diego 69 to 34. Clambing their 3rd championship in 5 years” (I was there for each of them) (I asked my sister later, where they were on the field and she told me they came out from the centerfield wall. They lined up-got a picture in front of the green monster. Then walked along the first baseline, and and lined up behind homeplate, the backstop area. Where they took another picture and the anouncemet was made.)
I was cheering the entire time. I think I embarrassed J a bit but I don’t care. That’s my sister out there.

We went to grab some food. He wanted to do what his mom does which was eat outside of the stadium (they have a roped off area with the venders and picknick tables set up) He asked me what I wanted. I told him a sausage with peppers and onions. He said ok. He brought me over to a table and told me to sit… I was a bit confused why I was sitting… he went go get the ood himself. He came back and handed me the tray. I said ok, let’s go. He said, go where? I said I want to go sit in the stadium and eat. he said no. I said yes. He said just eat it here. I said your mom is not here. I want to sit in the stadium and take my time eating and enjoy it and not just rush the and not enjoy my food just to get in for first pitch. He said ok, fine. (esasperated) We went up to our seats. Then he went back down to get his food. I said why didn’t you get your food when you got mine? He said they didn’t have it at that stand. So he couldn’t get mine, get his and then go up to our seats? … We got to our seats. He went back down and got his food and came back. During the first inning he said Amanda texted him said there was opened seats in their sections. So we headed over there.

We sat next to amanda. Noone was sitting next to me on my left. Jalen was on my right. For good or bad, Amanda said “Hey Jonathan, Briana is sitting a row down all the way to the left.” I felt some’s finger nails tap my knee and then Bri said Hi Jonathan. … some people don’t like Bri’s voice, say it’s too high pitched or something… I love her voice and could listen to all night long if I could and smile. She’s also one of the two people who said hi to me and chatted with me a bit at the post party in Chicago. But… I digress…

I had my head phones in one ear so I knew what was going on. Jalen was talking to Amanda as well as taunting the Blue Jay’s fans who were sitting in front of us. So, for the most part, I just sat there listening to the game with no one talking to me. Ocassionally Amanda would say something to me or If the place is going crazy… (Jalen is not good for me to go to games with. He will cheer without saying anything. So then I have to ask and keep asking questions. “what happened?” “ah, Ortiz got a hit” (a hit wouldn’t be enough to have the place go crazy) “ok and?” “um, there are men on first and third” …”and the run scored.” …”we tied the game up” (by this time. the enning is over)

The game went back-forth. We were down 4-6 and tied it in the 7th. It eventually went into extra innings. They scored 2 runs in the top of the 10th but the Red Sox, thanks to some errors by the blue jays, to score 3 wruns to win the game.

(side note, when Bri left in the 7th, she tapped my knee and said good bye

When we left at the end of the game, Amanda said there was only 3 other teammates still there. They are not baseball fans for the great majority.

My dad was going to pick us up at the train station near Amanda’s house so he said to have Amanda text him when we get on the train. She did. The game ended about 11:15. We walked to the first station but the line was a few hundred (maybe thousands) out the station. Never mind in side. So I said “we can walk to Backbay?” It was the next station So we did that. Along the way, Jalen was half-sleep he was so tired. He was complaining some of the time… until he walked past a sleeping homeless man. Jalen totally freaked out drama style. It was comical to me and Amanda. I thought it was funny because all I could think of, that could be one of my clients. they’re harmless. They’re caring people.

We got to the station and found out that we walked 1.2 miles in hot and very humid weather. Sweat was dripping off my face constantly. I was hot.

We got to the station. Took the train to another station that took us to the station near Amanda. She called Dad to see what side of the station he was at. He said that he had not left the house yet. Well, there goes texting him to save time. He got to us in about 20 minutes. We dropped manda off then Jalen. We got home about 1:15AM.

***…***…***

It’s less than a week till I am on the move again to meet another on lie friend and to capture another stadiu.

I don’t know… as I have said before, this sorta feels like the Indiana situation but I know exactly where I stand. She’s in a serious relationship so I have to tell myself to treat her like I would with Lisa. We are just friends and that’s all.

She had her hmm the guy she is dating? I don’t know what people call what they’re doing but whatever it is, he and the last guy she was screwing around with, come over last night (Friday night) andhelp her move a lot of things from her parent’s house to her bran new house. She said the other guy stayed till about midnight and she went to bed about 2 AM and I texted her about 10 and she was already up. so she prob got about 3 hrs of sleep.

So I’m not sure what I’m going to do there or what we’re going to do. She said she wanted me to come and keep her company while she paints and I can help her move things I her house.

I’m sure her BF is going to come over at least 2 nights, maybe more which is going to make it awkward for me.

I also have to keep in mind she has 3 young kids. So we talked about going to olive garden and out for Chinese and pizza and then I was thinking… and her kids would come along too. this should be very interesting. I hope we click on some level in person.
So far, the other meeting of on line friends haven’t turned out well.

Hmm I guess that’s all for now.
I am going to another game Monday night, but I’ll write about that during the week and other happenings then.

Thank you for reading…
And as always… I’m feeling extremely lone-alone and I’m starting to become someone I don’t want to be 

I'm glad you're going into this trip with that mindset. It's good to know before going what kind of situation it's going to be, so you aren't led on. I know it sucks that it's just a friends thing but at least you know that going in, so there's no hidden surprises.
