A Fitbit and a Vivo 3

cheekyI have been gone a really long time...things on the homefront are moving right along...time waits for no man. My oldest son has moved out into an apartment with his girlfriend, I hardly ever see him, but I understand that he is building his own life. I'm happy for him, it seems he is getting things together and stepping up in the world. No, that's not right, I DID hear from him the other day, because he thought he had left his W2 at my house.

My youngest son has gotten himself a job that he doesn't like - but, then again, who likes to work at McDonald's anyway? I worked there once for 3 days, and then once again several years later, for 3 weeks. I hated it. I lasted one day at Dunkin' Donuts...fast food is too fast for me. So, I can understand why he doesn't like it, but he is 20 years old and lives with his grandfather, so he has to do something.

In December we lost my mother-in-law...it was fast. On a Thursday she had a stroke, and the next Wednesday she died. Everyone was there, so she was surrounded by those that loved her and that she loved. When the nurse came to clean her up and make her "presentable", I went into the bedroom and helped. It was the last thing I could do for Mom. R.I.P. Donna Marie Duren. It was the first death that I have ever dealt with, and it was hard, but I had to be there for my husband and my boys.

And then, 2 weeks later, my father-in-law wouldn't answer his phone, so we went down to his house and found all of the doors locked. Hubby had to break into FIL's house, and we found him on the floor in his bedroom. He had been laying there for almost 24 hours. He went to the hospital, and they kept him there for 3 weeks. We ate Christmas dinner at the hospital. Which was fine with me, because, if you follow me at all, you know that I hate that holiday. Anycase, the hospital wouldn't let him come home until he had round-the-clock care, and both Kev and Cam are working, so that left me. And let me tell you, my FIL and I have not had one of the best relationships, but I did it. I spent about a week with him, we worked out a kind of truce, and it wasn't a bad time at all.

Now he is doing much better and he doesn't want anybody at his house - because he can take care of himself, or so he says. So, I don't go down there anymore - but, if he needed me to again, I would go without hesitation. Again, because my husband and my boys needed me, I went.

I have found that I want to get my certified CNA again, so I have to take a test and pay $200 - I've been studying, so hopefully I will do okay, because I really want to do that work again. I DID get my PSS, but the clients I worked for only needed housekeeping services, and that wasn't hands-on, so I didn't really like it.

I've discovered that I can hook my computer up to my mobile phone and get WiFi!! laugh So, I will try to update this everyday, although my days are boring as hell, so I may bore anyone to tears.

Until next time,

heartAime

Very sweet of you to help your FIL even though you don't have a good relationship with him. That is what family does! I am sure your husband appreciated it.
