For I came from a fish, you mock the place where I exist.

So. Just finished a really good book. H.P Lovecraft's The Shadow Over Innsmouth.
It's about (Or 'aboot' for all you canadians ) a coastal town called Innsmouth, where the residents worship a sea god named Dagon(yes, they made a movie about it), and gradually transform into fish and become aquatic over time, sacrificing every stranger who comes into town. And it, plus something someone said to me earlier, made me think it would be a wonderful thing to take to the ocean. Maybe find a mermaid and settle down. lol. Speaking of settling down, I've been single for about half a year now, as opposed to the usual half a week, and it hasn't worked out so bad. You have alot more space, but on the other hand, an empty bed at night is a lonely bed any time. There are pros an cons, but at least Ive had time to completely clear my head and focus on me. Oodles of time. I don't really do much sleeping these days. And in this seemingly endless meditation, I've come to be at peace with the fact that "There's someone for everyone" is a load of horseshit. Some people aren't meant to be a part of someone else, and vice versa. If you listen to the romantics, I'd have to find a person that knows who steven hawking is, likes the guitar-playing rocker type, reads books, has a sense of humor, and has infinite patience for hearing their boyfriend bitch about life all the time (Though in the form of jokes and creative metaphores, in my defense.). And in my experience, such a person does not exist. Such a person has often pretended to exist, only to remove the mask to reveal a soulless yuppie with no knowledge of science, literature, or music. So. Aaron shall stay Aaron. And life shall stay life. If, and until, such a person is located. I will not settle for someone who I have nothing in common with simply to cure loneliness. Doing so leads to constant short-term relationships that never end well. No thank you. I'm full up on those. I've learned to function as s single, independent unit without the aid of anyone but Mary Jane, and if it stays this way forever, I'm at peace with that.
