InterFaith House Fundraiser Information!

12/18/2012

This is my second order in a row that my profit hasn't all gone back into my AVON, for books n supplies... Granted not much left over but some is awesome to me! means I am finally being established that my customers know that i am there for them!
Granted a 6.95 profit isn't much... but its something.

I have my Interfaith house fundraiser money set aside also... so that helps.. So Far have raised $7.50 out of a $1,000.00 goal. It has five days left.....Oh have i not mentioned them here?

Interfaith Assistance Association was incorporated on December 28, 1982. Raymond Orlett, one of the founders, accepted the position of agent of the Incorporation. Shortly afterwards, the Association was named a publically supported nonprofit group by the State of Ohio, and is a member of the Free Store Food Bank in Cincinnati. The association sponsors a food bank and a free clothing store. It occasionally provides small loans for gas to doctor’s appointments, for medicine and for utilities. The primary purpose is to minister to the emergency needs of residents of Adams County and transients stranded there. Adams County is one of the poorest county in Ohio. The present rate of unemployment is 12 ½%. The number of people served each month has already increased by 50%. We need to insure the continuance of our programs. The present location for Interfaith is a two story wood framed house, with an unusable, partially dug out basement. The house’s foundation is hewed rocks. The house was deeded to Interfaith on November 18, 1994 by Joe and Bernice Richmond. When and if the house is no longer used to provide emergency food and shelter assistance, the house is to be returned to the Presbyterian Church. Since 2006 there have been continuous physical problems with the house. Although the roof had been recovered, it still leaked in a couple of places. The porch needed repair, etc. We have made repairs to the roof, had a new porch built on, shored up the floor, and shingled and replaced three windows on one of the gables. The house continues to deteriorate. The floors sag. The small doorways hinder a smooth flow of traffic. When the building becomes unsafe for our clients and staff, our ability to assist the needy in our county will cease. We hope to avoid that day. Interfaith has had several directors since its incorporation. At present the director is a volunteer. All of the workers are volunteers. There has been much discussion among the volunteers and the director about the need for a new building. We met with the board of the Presbyterian Church and have received their support and approval to tear down the present structure and build a new building on the same location. We began our fundraising with a $2500 check from the Monsanto Foundation. We are now reaching out to individuals and businesses for your support. You may make a donation to “Emergency Assistance Association Inc” Interfaith House, P.O. Box 40, West Union, Ohio 45693. Please feel free to call the Interfaith House for further information at 937-544-7141, and/or make an appointment to see the House. You are also welcome to stop by during the hours we are open, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11am to 3pm. Thank you for your support. Joe-ann Weber, Director Ruth Davis, Donna Harris, Judy Jones, Stuart Leach, Mary Ann Welling , Board Members
