So long, goodbye (with pics)

01/13/2009

It's finally the end of everything. The exams for 6 modules have finally ended.

Me in the classroom, infront of the chalkboard.
Yes, they are still using chalkboard when Singapore has replaces chalkboard with whiteboard.

I've been stuck in a foreign country for 4 and a half month. To think that I've been living in a country with lower standard of living.
I sound like a spoiled brat. But no, you wouldn't imagine how tough life here is.
You wouldn't imagine us having nothing to eat for the first week of life here.
You wouldn't imagine us resorting to eating unhygienic food every day.
You wouldn't imagine us walking through construction sites and climbing rocking trails.
You wouldn't imagine us in a toilet cubicle with no doors and no toilet papers.
You wouldn't imagine us having no electricity or internet every now and then.
You wouldn't imagine us freezing in the cold, trembling hard, with no heaters in our classroom.

There, the road I've been taking all these while to my classroom. Which, in fact is not the worse scenario one could think of.
Someday I shall post pictures of the rocks and the daunting pathway which we had to pass by every time. 4 months back, I kept thinking to myself why do we have to torture ourselves like this.
And 4 months passed, I've grown used to it.

Life is tough but it made me a tougher person.

I've been comforting myself that I'll be going home very soon and at last, that day is about to arrive VERY SOON

Honestly, this trip wasn't as hard as I expected it to.
Even without my closest family and friends around, I could still survive.

Me and my new friend
And just when everything is coming to an end, I've made a new friend and am glad that she's there when I needed help.

Our faces look glowing pretty!

Soon, I'll not be able to knock on my friend's door, or shout across rooms.
Soon, I'll not be able to do things together with my friends; we eat, we play, we shop, we scold bitch(es) together.

Friends are all that I have here.
Our memories here will always be kept in my heart. But when we go back to Singapore, will everything stays the same?

Why do people have to go through separation?
*sigh.
Separation is often inevitable. Nothing's forever.

So long, goodbye China.
I will miss the life here, but I'll definitely not want to stay here again.

Go to Canada. It's not exotic by any means, but heat is a must by law. So you'd be toasty warm. Or go somewhere hot...I'm in Spain...definitely hot here.

random* I'm glad to hear that through all the difficulties, you've taken something so positive away. That truly is strength of character.
