cutest thing Ev-ah!

04/02/2009

Angry, disturbed, and mystified cute little girl (with slight childish lisp) walks up to mother: What is this? Minced? You feed me minced? You ever catch a minced fish?

(Enter product placement for Mrs. Paul's Fish Sticks VS. generic fish stick brands)

Girl: This is more like it. Flaky, tasty, mmmmm...

I LOVE THIS COMMERCIAL!!! The little girl is SO cute! By the way, I just saw this commercial, thus it is on my mind. I thought I would share the adorable-ness of it. I don't care if I just made up a word. Haha.

HAHAHAHA - THE 'JE VEUX LES BONBONS' AD! I POSTED THAT ONCE. IT IS NOT REFLECTIVE OF EUROPEAN KIDS OR PARENTING STYLES IN GENERAL - IT'S AN EXAGGERATION FOR HUMOUR EFFECT!

THE AMERICAN KID IS PROBABLY NOT CONSIDERED SO CUTE BY NON-AMERICANS THOUGH. LIKE, AMERICAN ATTITUDE IS DIFFERENT FROM UK ATTITUDE. THIS AD IS TOO SLICK AND SMOOTH AND SMUG. WE TOTALLY HAVE ADS WHERE KIDS HAVE ATTITUDE TOO (LIKE SERIOUS ADS, AS OPPOSED TO THE SILLY ONE YOU POSTED!) - BUT IT IS DIFFERENT. IT'S MORE GRITTY. LIKE THE PARENT WOULD POINT OUT THAT THE KID WAS BEING DEMANDING, ALTHOUGH IN A HUMOROUS WAY - THERE'D BE GOOD-HUMOURED ALTERCATION BETWEEN THEM, AND THEY'D REACH SOME COMPROMISE WHICH SUITS THEM BOTH. I THINK IT'S JUST A CULTURAL DIFFERENCE.
