Baby Stuff

11/07/2010

So, I spoke to my older brother today for the first time in weeks. He and his wife are expecting another child in January. They don't know that we're trying but I thought my mum must of said something. This is what he said..

Bro: We have a pram to sell for $100. We bought it for over a grand but we got a new one so if you know anyone who wants it..... or if you want it..."

Me: Why would I need one? *Laughs*

Bro: We just really need to get rid of it.

I called Mum after I got off the phone. She didn't say anything to him and she's the only person who knows that we are trying. Apart from a couple of my friends who don't speak to any member of my family. So I'm thinking it was one of those things where they may have thought that considering I'm married now, we'll have a baby soon lol.

I told my brother that I have a friend expecting a baby in Feb. If she doesn't want it, then I'll take it. He then invited us out to a christian concert on Sat night. They are bringing the pram + a baby carrier in case we want it. He also said that the pram for me will be $50 but still $100 for anyone else.

I don't know if I want to tell him that we're trying because they didn't tell us that they were having a baby until she was 4 months along. If I don't, I'm just being spiteful. I don't see the harm in letting them know I'm on fertility meds. We weren't going to tell anyone when I do fall pregnant until 3 months anyway. (Just in case).

So yeah...

There has been a rough patch with my brothers and I (Especially my younger brother as you will be well aware of if you read that entry). So I'm not sure about what to say when they start asking questions. They did deliberately not tell us she was pregnant and also told other people not to tell us. *Sigh* I don't know what to say to them. "Yes we are trying" but don't tell them when I fall pregnant? Oh yeah, that's spiteful I just won't tell anyone until 3 months along. That way, no one can whinge and complain.

I'd tell them. There is no reason for you to act like they did. We're all big kids now, right? Well, for the most part...haha.

I agree with Laura, there is no reason to stoop to their level, you are better than that. If they ask, be honest. If they don't, don't tell more than you want. Waiting three months to confirm a pregnancy is going to take is being careful, but lying about trying at all would be spiteful.
