Are we safe now?

Wow. I hope the drama over my forum post has died a bit. I didn’t think I’d have so many people voicing their opinions in such a mean way. After all, I was asking a question regarding scientific evidence, one way or the other. The only person who actually made a good point was the person who said that if pot does the stuff it does to me, what could it do to a developing little body? Also, my doctor didn’t recommend that I do it but she also didn’t completely scold me like some of the people here did. Obviously, some are just emotional and not very rational.

Anyway, I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping and hopefully Dex will finish his finals with flying colors. He’s a smart one, and even though things have been hard since graduation, I know he’s going to be a great lawyer. He has to, because I plan to go to grad school the moment he graduates and can make the big bucks!

This past weekend we took the train up to New York where we met with some old friends. I miss the city so much! DC is nice, but it’s so small compared to NY! Also, everyone here either works for the government or lobbying firm, which is also related to the government. It gets boring to talk to people who can only talk about one thing, right? In New York, my friends are actors, bartenders, and everything in between. I love New York.

For Christmas, we are planning on going to my parents’ house in Virginia. My brother will be there, and he and Dex are BFFs. I swear, if he could marry my brother instead of me I think he would have done it. It took every bit of effort on Dex’s part not to tell Shawn (my bro) that I was pregnant before Thanksgiving. He’s excited he’s going to be an uncle!

Not that anyone asked, but I haven’t smoked any weed since I talked to my doctor and she recommended that I stop. I feel a mixture of nausea and hunger, which is a consequence of my eating disorder more than just the pregnancy. I’ve learned to identify these signs as hunger and I eat a little bit when I feel that way. I’m going back to the doctor next week and she’s going to check my weight. Hopefully I will have gained some. If not, I guess I will consider getting a vaporizer, like some people have suggested.
