Last Hoorah of the Summer

08/11/2014

So a couple of days ago... Thursday, actually, we were sitting around Britt's house and got this fantastic idea that we wanted to go to the beach. None of us have gone to the beach or have taken a true vacation for years. We've all been focused on work and our education, and simply just making life happen. It was spontaneous, last minute and expensive, but Friday night we piled into Brittni's rental van and drove to Delaware. A couple of weeks ago Lionelle totaled his car, but the insurance policy is in Britt's name. Statefarm gave Britt a big town and country van which has to go back to enterprise here shortly. We figured we might as well make the most of it.

It was probably a dumb idea because we have just three and a half weeks or so before we get the keys to our new townhome. We need as much money as we can collectively gather. Sometimes though I think you have to do dumb things like that- we really needed a weekend away and it was well worth it. We started in Delaware at Rehoboth beach where we enjoyed the ocean and let the kids play. Our children have never been to the ocean before, and it was fun. John came along, so it was nice to have an additional eye watching over the children. It took a lot of pressure off of me anyway. We went back to our hotel and then drove to Ocean City to walk the boardwalk and enjoy the nightlife. The next day we went back to Rehoboth and got some crabs, went to the waterpark Jungle Jims and then drove home.

I am so, so sore and tired. My arms and legs feel like jelly. As much fun as this weekend was, I am glad to be home.

Though this entry is very brief, I have a lot to talk about. I'm just super exhausted, and still need to go to Brittni's in order to help her clean out the van.

Later, Taters.
