So this week I started teaching an American History class. Monday morning, before I leave for school, I get an e-mail from my principal asking how I would feel about teaching US history to a new student. How could I say no? So I go in, and instead of a one-on-one class, I get three students. (higher pay rate). Two of them have been in another US history class. The max students they like to keep in one class at my school is six, and because there were two new students, the class was over filling. So I ended up with two new students plus a third. So I started teaching high school US history completely unprepared. lol I didn't even have a book yet and had to borrow one of the students'. The new student didn't have one, so three kids had to share one book while I took the other. It's been a fun week, but successful. I gave them a quiz yesterday on what they learned this week, and they call scored really well. So yayfun!

my dad was excited when I told him I was teaching US history now. lol. He's an American History teacher too. So now my day goes like this:
9-11:30 Assisting elementary
11:30-12:30 US History - high school
12:30-1:30 World History - one-on-one 11th grade
1:30-2:30 MWF - Assisting elementary elective Mythbusters, TTh - High school (and one middle schooler) Visual Arts

I still absolutely love my school. I'm so glad I'm a believer in "everything happens for a reason." Because if I didn't go through all the crap at the beginning of the school year at my old school, I never would have found this place. My only wish is that it would be salary and not hourly, although the hourly rate is awesome! (15/hr for assisting, 20/hr for one-on-one and my 1:30-2:30 electives assisting, 30/hr for a 3+ student class) There are no solid summer programs though, so I'm not sure how that is going to play out. I can sign up to tutor this summer, so hopefully that's something to do.

We're still waiting to hear from Comcast about Russ' job. Technically he's hired, but there's no word on the next training course. We've been waiting since before Christmas. So if Russ starts the Comcast job, we wouldn't have to worry too much about expenses during the summer. Russ is at the point now where he might start looking for a new job soon, if he hasn't already. He's just scared to, because he know if he does find something else, Comcast will finally contact him. So he's sticking with his current job as long as possible as much as he hates it.

Russ just left for work right now. My plan was to get as caffeinated as possible, put on some loud music, and CLEAN!

The litter box is still in the bathroom. For some reason, I haven't brought myself to remove it yet.
It's weird not having Kitty around. I used to come home from work every day and go straight to her to snuggle her. Every morning, I'd check her food bowl to see if it needed a refill. I still catch myself looking under the table in the kitchen. Because she was sick, the litter box wasn't even really used. Her last couple weeks, she couldn't even make it there... I miss checking the couch first before I sit down, because she blends into the shadows. I miss my cat. I just want to pick her up and hold her again.

I think that's why I have an urge to clean. There's still cat hair everywhere. (she's a perpetual shedder). It had hasn't even been a week yet since she left us. Seeing all the hair makes me sad. But if I remove it, it'll feel like I'm getting rid of her for good. She'll really be gone. I know it seems silly.

Anywho, I have to stop talking about Kitty. I don't want to be sad.

I guess I should get up and be productive. I haven't taken the dog outside yet, and it's almost noon. It's Saturday. Staying in my pajamas for as long as possible happens sometimes.

peace!

I am glad to hear that teaching is going so well! The pay doesn't sound too bad at all. I agree with you that everything happens for a reason and I am so glad things worked out the way that they did.

You talking about Kitty makes me sad. I am so sorry.

Do you work in a charter school? Just wondering. I am glad work is going well for you.

It takes a while to get over losing a pet. I had a hard time when I had to put my cat, Socks, to sleep 5 years ago. I still really miss him.
