Randy Bush & Haimen Port

08/13/2010

Randy Bush & Haimen Port
Haha! First Chinese illness ^^ Not Sars, I meant illness in China, not Chinese-crafted illness *flail*So I skivved off work yesterday, I didn't think going out was a good idea, my stomach felt like it had a brick in it *rolls around* I finished watching Princess Hours and feel remarkably free because of it, now I can concentrate on Chinese stuffs ^^ Round about 4pm I got really bored of lying in bed though, so I figured I'd go stalk down this post office nearby, first I had to buy a notepad and writing paper though, otherwise I'd just be sending a box to people (that's not right.) So I went to the underground shopping centre opposite the hotel. Very convenient place, also much cheaper and of the tiny stalls variety, as opposed to the centre next to the hotel, which is full of brands, >_< bleh.

I bought a notepad/planner, which has a fluffy black cat on it, dressed like a musketeer <3 He's called Oread (Korean of course ) and he's the giant, fluffy protector of a village of nymphs called Toread. They create love and give it to humans *retches* http://www.toread.co.kr/ Cuteness aside, it's a very pretty notepad, I also got some decorative postcards, unfortunately it's not fashionable to draw artistic pictures of China on cards, instead they're all drawings of Paris and Rome *sigh*

I also visited a sweet shop ^^ Such a nice day compared to the day before when I spent 15 minutes in a restaurant not understanding anything - the people in the sweet shops were so nice ^^ I just said "巧克力" and they took me straight to the chocolate section <3 A goodly day - Post Office was shut at 5pm though, so I didn't have time to check it out - quite apprehensive about using it actually, I'm worried they won't understand me... or vice versa I also really need to get my visa sorted and book train tickets to Qingdao 青岛, but I'm going to Beijing on Sunday, so that should give me a clue on how to order tickets

SO today, a Brit has joined the office *waves flag* He's only here till Monday though~ He's form the UK office so he's just looking round, but in the meantime that gives me someone who isn't Peter to hang around with - The Chinese are having a fit about him though, he's over 6' with peroxide blonde hair (natural though), so they're all getting giddy *head-desk*

I asked Kelly to show me the way to Guomei today, she said she'd get an address for em so I can find it later, SO H.O.P.E.F.U.L.L.Y new camera soon *bounce* though if they're not cheap knock-offs there's no way I can afford them Might jsut have to stick with my battery-gobbling flash-excessive one

Oh yeah, whilst typing out the surveyor contacts in Tianjin, I came across a fellow named Randy Bush. Lol. It's finally happened. I knew the preponderance of Randys and Candys in this country was bound to eb a fail at some point. For my own personal amusement, we deal a lot with Haimen Port *guffaws* Hem. Mature.
