Where I live there was 34 mph gusting winds.
I just checked weather.com and there is a High
Wind Warning until Tues at 6pm.
It was an ordeal. I planned ahead for the cold,
coat and everything, but I didn't plan for the wind.
I was taking the bus home from the library,
where I volunteer on Mondays. I should have trusted
my gut and try to call somebody from the library
I stopped at Taco Bell to try and call somebody
to get a ride home. But AT&T didn't have service.
I was like OMG!!! What do I do.
Let me put it this way, the what do you call it was
blown all around. I was like, I'm walking through the middle
of down town where it is the worse, just to get home.
I must be crazy.
After I crossed High Street, I was like, maybe I should take a TAXI?
It took me 10 minutes to cross the street. I had to hold onto a post.
I let the signal change 3 times before I felt like it was safe enough
to cross.
I had enough cash on hand for a TAXI ride.
I had $25 dollars, but it only ended up costing 5 dollars.
It was kind of fun to ride in the TAXI.
There was a TAXI right there for me because
the Convention Center is on my way home.
I was lucky I decided to do that.
I was listening to the TAXI radio.
Everybody in my city was taking the TAXI home.
Students was calling TAXIs.
You just can't walk in 34 mph wind very easily.
I'm safe home now. I have plenty of food,
in case I'm stuck inside for the next 3 days.
I have rides tomorrow, so if I go out to volunteer
tomorrow, then I will be OK.
