Another passing

Dungeons & Dragons co-creator Dave Arneson is dead

In case you missed it ... Dungeons and Dragons co-creator Dave Arneson has died.

It was the second blow to fans of the addictive role-playing gamein about a year. Gary Gygax, the more famous face behind the 25-year-old classic, died in March of last year.

Gygax, 69, had been suffering from various health problems. Arneson, 61, died of cancer. He passed away shortly after 11 p.m. April 7, according to a statement sent by his family to a couple gaming bloggers.

Arneson was a driving force behind D&D's creation and his contribution to the world of adventure gaming should not be underestimated," wrote Matt Blum of Wired Magazine. "It was Arneson's spark that transformed Gygax's game Chainmail into the first edition of D&D, and begat everything that followed."

Wow.

My ex used to be heavy into D&D. it used to drive me crazy. I wouldnt see him for days. I mean, he was wayyy too into it.

While my condolences go out to the family, I fear his passing is only going to make the game more popular.
