You want Windows 7. It just replaced Windows Vista.

And depending on your system's capabilities, yes it's "better" than XP. If you're going to move away from XP though, I'd switch to Windows 7 rather than Windows Vista.

Windows 7 at it's core IS Vista, however they've made some upgrades, it performs better, is more stable, and worked out most of the Vista bugs.

I'm like Puck. Well, not entirely cos there's only one Puck. But I tend to fix things by fiddling about and changing settings without really having a clue what I am doing. Eventually this seems to solve the problem but often presents new problems. So I just go on fiddling and fixing my way out of trouble. Once the number of new problems reaches critical mass, I junk the old computer and buy a new one. It's expensive but, hey, it works for me, baby!

Just so you know, it's the same for Windows Vista. I went to the Control Panel and that icon was there. So don't make people do more work than they have to.

and..the searching for 'keyoard' didnt help (I have vista). it just brings up the icon for my keybord. i had to type in 'languages' to get to that window..

I just got a new laptop. I was terrified of Vista. I love it now. Vista is the way to go. To be honest though the only difference I hacve really noticed is I can see wwhat is in my minimized windows and trhe startt menu is really neat.
