Tomorrow's Appointment

07/13/2010

12-21-2010

We had a great rain storm yesterday...all day! And it was great! Finally a break from these high 90s! There's another storm cell coming and I can't wait. I want it to be better than the last one. Being pregnant in the summer is not fun! Anyway, we have our next OB appointment tomorrow morning around 9:30. I'm not really sure what's going to happen other than a PAP smear [[woo hoo?]]. I really want to go ahead and just find out the baby's sex. Kevin brought up what names we were going to use. I'm still stuck on choosing a girl's name but I still have 5 months to officially pick it! We get to meet the new doctor tomorrow :/ I'm not sure how comfortable I'm going to be letting her do my PAP on the day I meet her. Oh well. No harm, no foul.

So there's this news show that comes on in the morning...but it's not a real news show like on ABC. While they do report the weather and what's new, they criticize everything that's going on around them. Today's highlights:
A fast talking tupperware lady, the cap on the oil spill, the people that came out with eyeshadow that resembles the iphone. They think they are so funny, and sometimes they can be. But some of the things they talk about are really serious like the oil spill and they do nothing but make fun of it. They showed videos that parents had taken of their kids saying cuss words. Not only the parents, but the "news" crew was laughing about it...and then, because they have to, they gave some guidelines about what to do when your kids says something out of line. The worst (and the first) bullet point was to have no reaction. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! My kid will get a hand to the butt. Child abuse or not, it's what my parents did and my grandparents did, so I'm doing it too! It seems effective enough.

Is it necessary for the summer school bus to honk it's horn a million times for one kid? Obviously they don't care or they wouldn't be in summer school! I find summer school a waste of time. The teachers don't want to be there and the kids sure as heck don't. So why not just hold them back. Maybe next time they will do their homework and study.

lithium layouts.

I was talking about kids swearing on a forum that I am on yesterday... Some lady asked if putting soap in her 4 year olds mouth for saying the F word repeatedly was wrong.. All these moms were like 'you should have just ignored it, you just gave them the attention that they wanted'... I'm sorry but my kid will get his butt spanked if I catch him saying that knowing its wrong, and/or chew on a bar of soap in the corner! People dont ignore there kids when they walk into traffic, why would you ignore them when they are using that kind of language! Your reaction is what tells them its NOT ok and Mom and Dad are right.

Spanking is what gets my sons attention, plain and simple, he thinks time outs are a joke, and if you yell at him he yells back.. which leads to a spanking. Its not like I beat him! I was spanked and I turned out relativly fine , same with all my cousins, and aunts and uncles, and my grandparents were spanked too.. Its been happening since the begining of time, people are just making kids too damn sensative now a days!

I know if I dropped the F bomb in front of my grandparents at 21 I would still get my ass beat with a wooden paddle!!

Yeah I dont think that my mom had to spank me too many times, and it was more the emotional of it than anything.
