worked all of yesterday in a musty old basement.
Friends bought a house and it was packed full of stuff. So my husband I went to help them pull out the valuables, the scrap metal and the trash (in respective piles) in exchange for half the profit. (they're good friends)
I ended up trading my cash for a few antiques.
1. a large wooden picture frame. Yes, empty. (but I love it)
2. two wooden crates (dated 1928) that used to hold beer but will now hold my books.
3. a stepping stool that is still more solid than anything you can find in a store today.
4. several vintage glass vinegar jugs (which I plan to store my homemade apple cider vinegar in)
5. a rake. Yes, a yard rake. But here is the awesomeness.... it's wooden. all of it is wooden. I'm going to hang it on my wall and use it as a conversation piece.

As I was reading it I was thinking, "I wouldn't want part of the profit, id want stuff!" Awesome finds!

I forgot to mention! A library file. Like, the old ones for book cards.... My husband tried to hide it from me but he did not succeed.

That all sounds awesome! Makes me want to go antiquing.

It's a weakness of mine, I admit. My husband tried to tell our friends that I'd want to be there- and I'd want stuff. And they both looked at him like he was crazy. I proved him right, though!
