Sacked!

11/26/2010

6PM.

Well what a shoddy few weeks this has been!
I got a call on Monday from Sharron at work saying to come in on the Tuesday for a 'meeting'. I arrived - "Do you know why i've called you in, Emma?", "No", "You've no idea at all?", "No.." - Smarmy facking twat! Anyway, i've got THE SACK!! because i had 2 days off work last week and i missed the staff meeting. "I was in hospital suffering a miscarriage, Sharron!!" Apparently i should've told her this before, as i jus rang in sick, but i didn't realise that people shouted they're having a miscarriage from the rooftops.. ? DIRTY BITCH.
Jus as it's coming up to Christmas too - i don't FACKING believe it!

Life can't get any worse, can it?

All i can think about is our little baby, that's he's gone, and he isn't coming back ): SHANE is looking after me more so now - it's brought us closer i think. But i'd rather be how we was & still have our little one. ): I'm more irate with myself for considering having a termination jus for the sake of keeping my job - and i've lost it anyway!!

Tonight still.. Shane's popped out for a few. He'll be back soon. Hopefully he'll wait 'til the Soaps've finished 'cos i can't be doing with him flicking them off as soon as he gets in. Ha! My televee night in. I'll treat myself out tomorro i think - IT'S DESERVED!

WTF - you're not required to explain the nature of your sickness over the phone when you call in sick. You could totally challenge this as unfair dismissal. I see from your FP that you worked in a residential home, and I know from experience that staff in care homes can be utter bitches, but seriously, I'm pretty sure they can't legally sack you for this - if you challenged it, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Although, realistically, you're better off finding a better job elsewhere, where you're not treated like shit. I find the best care homes to work in are those owned by the local council. Then NHS - and the worst ones are private ones. (I'm guessing you worked in a private one, as NHS and council ones literally aren't allowed to just sack someone like this).

You hadn't been there long had you? In which case it may have been you were under the trial period. Most companies have them, some just shout it louder than others. In which case it would be normal for this to happen. A shame though. Though as La Rana says, Look into it as for sick reasons they shouldn't be sacking you. Even if you had been there years and was sick frequently they still have to do it the proper way! x
