It took me the first 3 days to really work through the sore muscles.. but here on day 4 I am feeling really good. I'm still a little sore in certain places, but its no longer an ordeal to bend over or sit. I have been pleasantly surprised so far with the program. I thought it would be super extreme from day one but I am almost through the first week and everything has been fun and doable. I really enjoy Tony Horton.. he brings a charisma to the videos that makes it more fun and carefree.. constantly tells you just to do what you can and if you stumble or can't keep up with them then thats ok and it will improve. This is important for me because I will stress myself without thinking about it and its nice to have verbal reminders that its ok to not be perfect at this right now. I also like how they show several variations to different poses that I can choose from. Today I did Yoga X which has been the hardest video thus far. I just started doing yoga here and there about 2 weeks before I started this program and I'm glad I did. The Yoga X is advanced and I'm definitely not flexible for a lot of the poses, but it doesn't hinder me from trying.. I really enjoy Yoga. My favorite so far has been the Cardio X video (day 2).. it was just challenging and fun for me all around. Yesterday I didn't do so well with the arms/shoulders/back workout just because I had the bands and no weights and I didn't have the right kind of bands so I just did what I could. I also didn't see that the ab ripper x was attached to this workout and I didn't leave enough time to do both videos so I just did what I could of one and saw that I was to do the ab ripper x on day 5 as well so I felt it ok to skip this once. I will be picking up barbell weights sometime tomorrow.. I think the bands are worthless!
I have also still been doing regular cardio everyday either at home or at the gym. Sounds like a lot but the extra cardio has helped me work through my sore muscles (as well as soaking in a hot bath ) and I enjoy the intensity of it all. I sit at work for 8+ hours at a desk (2nd shift) so being active as much as possible during the day has been really good for me.
I still feel like I'm slacking on the diet. I follow the foods that I should be eating but just not getting enough of it. I basically eat every 2hrs from the time I get up and thats hard to make time to prepare for everyday. Plus I am used to only eating maybe twice a day so by the time 2 hrs rolls around I feel kind of like "ugh..time to eat AGAIN" ..I felt that way on day 2 and I stopped eating around 9 and my stomach actually grumbled at 11! I found it kind of humorous. I hope all this food is going to good use
tomorrow I work my legs and abs and I'm pretty excited about it. I have pretty powerful legs as it is.. they have always been the strongest part of my body and I love stretching them and working them. And I'm ready to get into this ab ripper.. my stomach definitely needs it and I'm glad I do this video twice a week for the first 6 weeks or so (I believe).
It was pretty tough working through the first 3 days with being tired in every way possible.. but now I'm over that little hump and I can work on getting more flexible and build more strength without worrying about getting so sore.... for now.
Thats all I got
