The origin of robofoot

hardcore.
strike.

Not long now till my hospital visit, so im gonna start from the beginning, I was born with a medical problem called talipes equinovarus, which to most people is called a club foot. Basically the foot is twisted round near enough backwards and instead of flat it is scrunched into a ball. Obv my parents were pretty freaked out despite one being a paramedic and the other an auxiliary nurse they had never really heard of it. With most cases of club foot 90% or so you can manipulate the foot into a normal position by hand then cast it to make it stay like that. mine was in the 10% that cant be done.
I had loads of operations moving tendons and trying to make my foot as normal as possible, I spent most of my childhood years in a cast. I learned to walk at the age of 8 months in a long leg plaster! I had my last operation at the age of seven. this one really fucked up. It was supposed to be a lengthening of my Achilles tendon then after a skin graft from my thigh to cover the wound as it was a biggie. It didnt quite work.
Noone told me what had happened so first thing i did was stick my hand onto my thigh to see why it was so itchy, my fingers scraped bare muscle. was quite painful.
Secondly my foot didnt take to the skin graft and I came very close to losing it, only reason i didnt was because my mum and dad bathed it in salt water every night for ages trying to help it heal, because I have a history of very bad healing in this foot I have been told to expect that my operation on the 23rd may fail.
The risks I was told about were

Loss of foot
Loss of all feeling around the toes
Not being able to walk properly on my foot after
Death by a blood clot

Great huh well fingers crossed (and toes crossed while i can)

I see what you mean about joining me with the lack of feeling. Best of luck though. It sounds rather painful.
