another variation of this site (and is probably run by the same company) is http://www.sendearnings.com - which seems to have literally the same concept and policies. inbox dollars is great - if you like flooding out your inbox with "paid" ads and doing very tedious surveys. you get paid .50 cents per survey you complete, and about .02 cents for each email advertisment you look at. what's nice is that you get a $5.00 sign-up bonus, and then referral bonuses for friends or family members that you refer to inbox dollars. also, if you buy certain things online, or spend money signing up for programs they advertise (netflix, certain clubs, etc), it will give you a cash bonus as well (although, personally, i avoid doing this.) you can "cash out" your earnings once you've reached $30.00. a con to inbox dollars is that it takes quite a while to reach that $30.00 mark. and of course, the surveys themselves, are pretty hard to actually qualify for - meaning there's less opportunities for you to make money off of the surveys if you don't, for example, have a child under 18 in your household, or belong to a certain racial group. this site, however, is totally & 100% legitimate. if you commit to doing 2 surveys or more a day, and fill out some free offers, you can easily reach the $30.00 mark within a month or two. and again, what's nice about inboxdollars, is that it's pretty much no-nonsense. while it pays less than other "survey" sites, at the same time, it offers at least 2-3 per day, and are totally legitimate, real surveys intended for research purposes by companies who usually want consumer's help with advertising pitches (and how to make them more appealing.) i've been with inboxdollars for roughly a month, and i have about $24.00 in my account so far - not quite enough to cash out yet. this is a great site if you like to do surveys online & wish to help advertisers & such, & you do get paid.

cash crate is totally different than inbox dollars, my first paid survey experience. firstly, cash crate is considered a "GPT" site, and offers two daily surveys that you can complete for .80 cents a piece, and many totally free offers that you can do as well for a cash value, from about .25-1.00 each. i made rougly $27.00 in november of '08 (last month), although, honestly, i wasn't that dedicated to going on it every day. the checks are sent automatically halfway through the month after you earn the money. the cons to this is that you pretty much have to fill out online "surveys" and then reject a bunch of optional offers to get your money - however, it does work, and there is a forum full of testimonials of how much money people have received through cash crate in the past. in my first month, i made $27.10, which isn't an amazing amount, but pretty cool for not having to do TOO much work. while it can get a little tedious, i would definitey recommend it if you have some extra time on your hands & want to earn a little spending $ on the side.

opinion outpost is a paid survey site, like inbox dollars, but with much bigger payouts (as far as individual surveys are concerned), however less surveys available to actually do. the good thing is that the surveys are worth at least $1 apiece, and the minimum payout is extremely low - $5! my first payout (being processed right now) is for $6, from doing 3 surveys. pretty cool. obviously, not a huge chunk of change - but you definitely get the most for minimal amounts of effort. what's also nice about this site is that there's no need to worry about advertisers, junk mail, etc - opinion outpost is PURELY for paid surveys & surveys alone.

treasure trooper is pretty much identical to cash crate, except it's less popular, seems to have less offers available, and has a theme to it. it's minimum payout is also $20 & it also has a decent referral program. in the past four days (with minimal effort of course, i'm lazy :] ), i've made around $9 - which is almost halfway to being able to cashout! what's nice is that it usually doesn't take very much time at all to have offers be credited once you've completed them - so you can easily see what you're making without having to wait too long for approval. what's also nice is that they have a forum && so if you're wishy-washy, like i was at first... members post copies of the checks they receive from treasure troopers. which is awesome.

it's to my judgement.. that this site is a load of crap. firstly, the payout is RIDICULOUSLY high (i believe $100!), meaning that it will either TAKE FOREVER for you to reach this point, or you'll never get paid at all. secondly, pandaresearch, to my knowledge, isn't even a "research" company, such as Opinion Outpost or Inbox Dollars. their version of "surveys" is having you sign up for online offers where you have to pay - which isn't cool. (i NEVER do those - no matter how legit they seem. you can never be too careful, especially with your credit card number!) unless someone can tell me otherwise - i don't trust this site & i'm guessing it's a scam.

okay, so, at first, this site totally had me under it's wing. it looks & sounds totally professional & legit. wait - let me take that back. i do believe it's legit, although this is another scenario where the payout is way too high ($50!), and it pays you for "product evaluations", where, YES, you do have to put your credit card on file with a company & order the product, and then evaluate it & take their surveys. to me, this seems a little fishy (again, correct me if you have a better idea of what this site is about.), and i wasn't going to fall for it. in my (feeble) opinion, products that need to be evaluated should be free, not cost money to members.. i avoid this site as a result.
other random facts & tips:
1.) most sites & offers require you to be 18, although i think you can be 13 to join cash crate. i also know that you have the most opportunities if you live in the U.S., but you can still join if you don't. (i'm pretty sure, anyway.)
2.) be wary of scams. anything that sounds "too good to true" probably is. any other offer that involves "free" (with an asterik after it..) is probably not something you can trust. use your best judgement.
3.) pay attention to a site's "privacy policy", which usually contains all of the fine-print information about how they will or will not spread around the information you put on their site (your name, address, phone number, etc.).
4.) remember that you're pretty much being paid to sell your information to advertisers - so if you don't want a million telemarketing phone calls, don't give away your real or primary phone number. also - expect to receive junk mail, so, for example, do not provide your work, school, or other important email to any of the surveys/advertisers. make a separate email just for doing surveys.
5.) don't complete any offer that says it's free (or a free trial), and asks for your credit card number. there is usually a fine print - saying that if you don't cancel your free trial in so and so many days, you'll be charged a ridiculous amount of money.
6.) don't join any site that is not free, or that has not been recommended to you by someone you trust! anything that has a surcharge is probably a scam.
7.) doing surveys shouldn't SUPPLEMENT your income! do it to earn a little on the side, because you're bored, etc - but don't try to make it your main source of income - as it won't be nearly as fulfilling as you might have hoped.
8.) learn how to clear your cookies. as annoying as this sounds, i'd really suggest doing it after every couple of offers, or between offers from the same advertising company. also, switching up your email on GPT sites definitely improves your chance of getting credited for doing the offer, for some reason.
