My poor boy.

04/04/2011

So, Trystan had his sleep test last night. The poor boy had NO idea what was going on when they started sticking the electrodes to his face and body. He was a little scared, but probably only because it was something new and he's not used to being hooked up to stuff like that. But he was very brave. I had him sit in my lap while they got everything together, so it wasn't so bad for him.
After he was hooked up, we went back to our room where there was a nice big bed for us to sleep on, and a tv for Trystan to watch a cartoon before he went to sleep. By this point it was 2 hours after his regular bedtime, so it really didn't take him very long to actually pass out. The only issue I really had with him was getting him to NOT pull the electrodes off his face. They had this thing stuck on his toe too (I guess to watch his pulse) and he kept kicking it off. So they waited for him to fall asleep before putting it back on.

My baby all hooked up.

After he finally passed out, I tried to do the same...which was kinda hard, since I'm not used to going to bed that early unless I'm super tired. Eventually I did, and of course, with Trystan sleeping next to me, snoring, and hooked up to all this stuff, I kept waking up throughout the night to check on him and make sure everything was still on his face. It was a very restless night. Partially because there was a camera in the room that I knew we were being watched on. And boy was it COLD. Holy hell, was that room ever cold. I slept on top of the blankets, so I wouldn't disturb Trystan while he was sleeping, but even still. I had my sweater on the whole night and I froze.
At 5:17 this morning, the lady that was watching us sleep came in to take everything off Trystan's face. He was still sleeping, and she wasn't exactly being gentle in doing it either. My poor child was abruptly woken out of his sleep by someone tearing tape off his face and pulling things out of his nose. She was literally moving him around like he was a bloody rag doll...all the while, Trystan was whining and kept saying ow, but this lady just kept on going. I couldn't believe it. I wasn't impressed by that.
I asked before we left when the results of the test would be in, and the lady told me that it would depend on the doctor who referred Trystan. And that doctor told me when I saw him last week to wait 6 weeks after the sleep test to come back and see him. So I have to wait.
By 5:45, we were out of there and on our way home. It was freezing outside because it had rained and snowed a bit last night, so the ground was still wet and stuff. Trystan didn't like it at all. He kept saying he was cold...I was cold myself. Imagine, waking up in a cold room, and having to go outside where it's even colder. Not a great start to the day. Not to mention the fact that neither me OR Trystan are ever up that early.
I'm exhausted. Trystan has a hearing test scheduled for this afternoon but I think I'm going to reschedule it for tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm just waaaay too tired to go anywhere today, and I'm pretty sure Trystan's gonna need a nap later too.
I'll update later. I am SO tired.

Haha i am the same way. They are ugly, huge, some of them fly, but they crawl SUPER SLOW and they smell horribly and if you kill them (squishing them) more come back for that scent. They get in through TEENY TINY cracks and live in dark places (bedding, drawers, closets etc) they can bite but it isn't harmful. Mainly they are just a creepy ass pain that I do not want to wake up to looking me in the face in the morning lol.
