Due to the recent decent weather, the mrs and I decided to take a short boat trip on the Union Canal. We treated June to this as well as it's coming up to her big 60! on Friday the 19th. We saw a couple of Swans with three cygnets swimming up and down the canal. They come right up to the boat windows as people have been feeding them.
At one point the canal turns around a corner which you can't see, so you have to blast the horn twice to alert any other boat you are coming through.
They even let June have a go at steering the boat. It was a fun way to spend half an hour or so. We booked the next one on Tuesday for all 3 of us. It's a much longer journey this time.
The lawnmower broke down whilst June was mowing the grass so at the moment we have a three quarters cut back garden. I went through the rigmarole of phoning up Argos who then gave me a number on which to phone Flymo. Which was a wrong number they then said to phone Husqvarna as they own Flymo. So now I have to take back the mower to get it exchanged for another Mower. Why I couldn't just go back to my Argos and get it replaced I don't know! We have got June various things for her birthday. I got her a DVD of Where Eagles Dare the war film. It was on Tv recently and she was somewhat miffed that she had missed half of it. I got her a rainbow skull bag from Claire's Accessories (it's alright I was with the wife!), some Haribo Tangfastics and I will get her a bay tree shortly along with her birthday cake and trifle. As for me. Same old stuff, apply for job get turned down. Hoover house steam house for moth prevention. Incidentally I have only caught imago's (adult) moths lately so I hope this means we have got rid of all the eggs. I suspect a few are coming in the door at night when we let the dog out. I received my latest Virgin bill which was a baffling surprise, however after querying it with the bods at Virgin whoever told me the spare router had been sent in error and that I could keep it free of charge needs a slap. In fact two seperate people told me that. I have returned said router and will see if they take it off my next bill. They charged me £10 for something I didn't even ask for :-s. I asked for my contract which I haven't received since I started receiving Virgin services on 29th April! Other than that the service from Virgin is great. Plus it's good to talk all the people still using msn messenger. Random question: What is the most boring sport in the world? Personally I think cricket. I know I'm not meant to say that because I'm English but it just is.
Reading: I have just finished reading Sweeney Todd: THe Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Took a bit of getting into since it's written in that old style of English. However it was worth it in the end.
