I suck at exams.

Hello everybody and welcome back to this my diary.

I have been away for a while. Anyone miss me? I was away training to be a bus driver, sadly I still haven’t managed to pass the test which is quite frankly starting to do my head in.

The Mrs is fed up with her job. You would think working in a bookshop would be as simple as selling books. However any of you who work or have worked, in the retail sector here will know it isn’t. It should be but it isn’t. We’ve got to have stupid things like Customer Champions and Team Leaders. What is wrong with just being a grunt? It seems if you do your job well it means instant let’s give you a new job. Which you’ll hate.

I’ve managed to get a few bargain computer games recently. Phoenix Wright: Justice For All for £4.86, Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass for £9.99 (both from Curry’s) and Okami for £12.00 (from Asda). Not bad since I’ve found all of these games still retailing for near their RRP. Now if I can find Professor Layton and the Curious Village for £9.99 I’ll be laughing.

We finally had some snow (Yes funny isn’t it I live in Scotland and haven’t had any thick white stuff). The Mrs was off so demanded we go sledging. She’s got this orange Russian metal sledge with two skis and a steering ski as well. Needless to say she had great fun. Plus I got to drive round quite a bit in the car, which was good practice for snow driving, plus there were a lot of single track roads. We tried to get to some big hill called Cockleroy View but the roads just kept leading us around in circles. We met a small Pug dog called Alfie who took a shine to the wife. He was snuffling and turning circles whilst she was giving him a scratch. Dogs they just love a scratch in front of their tail! She did end up stinking of Pug for the next twenty minutes!

Oh by the way in my last entry I said I was annoyed by Americanism’s. Just to explain this. An American has moved into my area. No problem with that, I have a few American friends. What I do have a problem with is that his kid who goes to school here gets picked on because his Dad won’t let him say the British version of things. For example he says Sneakers instead of Trainers, Chips instead of Crisps. Resulting in the other kids bullying him. Thing that gets me is you wouldn’t move to Hungary and insist they talked the same way as you in English rather than Hungarian. As the saying goes when in Rome do as the Romans do. His Dad actually says to British people when he doesn’t understand “Can’t you speak English?” Needless to say he’s not very popular.

Random Task: If you could pick any nationality other than your current one to be what nationality would you be?

See you next time, when you’re bored

I would be Italian, so I could learn a new language.
I don't think any job where you have to work with other people is ever as simple as it should be, unfortunately.
Those are really good game bargains. I want to play Okami, will pick it up when I get some pennies.
We still haven't had any snow, I don't know whether I'm relieved or grateful.
I hope you pass the bus exam soon.

Sorry about the test I think it would be very scary to drive a bus!

Those Americans sound very rude.
