Mon to Fri: Work business as usual. Two trainees sprung on me on the Thursday, "When are they starting?"
"Monday."
"Monday the what?"
"Monday coming"
*Screams in his head*
I don't mind training people, honest, it is my job after all. I would just like some more notice! All though because they've given me my holiday they've shot themselves in the foot as I have 2 service trainees and a home shopping manager in the business when I am away.
Friday night: The SOL (that's the name of my department at work) crew all went ten-pin bowling. Minus the managers as they couldn't make it. We all had fun, although I was told off because I won all 3 games. I did point out that I shouldn't count as I used to bowl in a league. I got 87, 124 and then 149 in the last game. Thing is I was being told through the week that men are always competitive. I found that funny as I've always played for fun. Think my feet have shrunk as I now take a size nine bowling shoe :-s. They told me my prize for winning was giving people lifts home. Didn't mind anyway as one of them stays on my way home. The other was only a five minute diversion. Got home at midnight.
Saturday: Went to see Kate. We've been trying to meet up since she moved back to Edinburgh. Finally managed it this week. It took so long because I used to work the weekends and she worked Monday to Friday. I said I could meet her and supply biscuits. She gracefully accepted the offer of biscuits. One pack of custard creams and one pack of jammy dodgers. We caught up and I made her laugh about most things, I'm just a funny guy. Probably in more ways than I should be but hey. Got a bit lost trying to find her flat but managed it in the end. I know where I'm going for next time!
Sunday: Went to the Gyle with the family shopping. Just a few bits and pieces. Bought some lettuce and cabbages for planting in the garden. So we now have two varieties of cabbage and lettuce in the garden. We have slugs so we've bought some morrisons value lager so hopefully that'll kill them. Too many holes in my leaves, action needs to be taken.
Next week: Make a list for my 5 day oddyssey down south. Won't be a long list though.
