Uhhh....whoops missed an update again!
It seems all my friends are having children at the minute. Congrats to the latest couple. Mic and Amy. That's going to be one cooky and funny kid (in a good way!) if it takes after their parents. As for me and the mrs, well we've never wanted kids. We'd rather have a dog!
Last Friday (thinks.....) the 19th I think I caught the bus before I needed to to go and pick up the long wheel base van for the move. I finally got to drive a Ford Transit! The bus journey to the place was a bit of a roundabout trip. There had been a fatal accident on the road so the bus had to divert from it's normal route, double back on it's self and then take the motorway to avoid the sealed off road. Had two stupid beyond belief office workers moaning all the way til I got off the bus an hour or so later. They were moaning that they would late to work and why didn't the bus driver go this way not that way. If my stop hadn't appeared I really was going to turn round and say "Unfortunately ladies someone has died and it wasn't either of you." Really pissed me off those two. Sure I wanted to be at the van rental place for 9.00 am but it was 9.10am. Wow!
The van was spotless since it was a 2010 plate. Had it for 3 days enjoyed driving it. Moved all our stuff on our own again since the new place is just over the canal. The road into my estate is a bit dangerous. The corners are very tight and the roads are very thin. Still we have a house and it's warm.
As for the house. The heating has been knocked out once and the electrics quite possibly haven't been updated since the house was built. We had an electrician over as all the plugs in the house have been made into double sockets. Plus a fuse cartridge went (yes fuse cartridges anyone still got those?). I re-wired it but we still had a problem. In came the electrician "Uhh copper wire shouldn't be in cartridge fuses as the house would burn down before that blew." Which was nice to know! The electrician said he would condemn the electrics. As they blew after June boiled a kettle and a plug socket that wasn't being used the cable behind it melted.
Still he fixed the electrics and the Virgin fibre optic broadband is once again installed. I think the mrs is an eBay addict I tolsd her 3 or 4 times there was one of those pay as you go net cafe's where she worked. Without net from the 17th til the 23rd. Tragic huh? Funny when she voted on the Wii that I use the net every day.
I've been growing some stuff at home. I now have courgettes, chillis, forget-me-nots and sunflowers coming up. More plant updates next time.
