This week worked til Wednesday which was spent wandering aimlessly behind the wife and Mother-in-Law combo whilst they went coat shopping. Still the wife did get a few coats which is a result as she can usually never get anything that fits. Got the MIL a jewellery box and a large paperweight fake diamond.
Thursday: Went through to Edinburgh to get the wife's ring. Went to the jewellers first and picked it up. Thoroughly pleased wife . After which we walked down to Holyrood House (The Queens Galleries) to view the Scott and Shackleton exhibitions, I treated the mrs and paid her in. We were going to go on our anniversary but I was knackered. After we went around the exhibits we got our cards stamped which means we now get free entry for a year which is nice!
Friday: Worked 8 til 12. Although the Mrs had this day off. I was working as her rota wasn't as up to date as my make it up and see one! I decided to spend my £25 gift voucher for GAME given to me by my parents for my Birthday. Went into GAME and got Cursed Mountain and Dead Space Extraction as they were buy one get one free. Which left me with a fiver to pay. So £2.50 each really, wasn't bad!
Saturday: It was my birthday! 30 today. I was teasing my younger female colleagues demanding birthday hugs! Although I made Willie laugh the most. It went like this. Siobhan and I were going for lunch. Willie was standing there so I shouted out "Say Happy Birthday Andy" William replied "Happy Birthday Andy" "Thanks very much" I said shaking his hand. He was laughing at me the rest of the day.
Second break in the canteen was late as usual in fact I was the last one. Clair in the staff canteen was understandably getting annoyed but I never need any food on my last break. Clair was just getting rid of the food so I got a free bowl of profiteroles.
I confused Jenna the most as I was about to go home at 8 (yes no 12 hour shift on my birthday shock!), went up and said give me a birthday hug. She went oh ok and didn't really seem to know what the heck I was talking about.
My present haul was: A wolfy dog-tag, new slippers, Madagascar 2 and Superted dvds, Mr Bump soap (he is the coolest Mr Men character) and a lollipop! I got two cakes for my birthday. The Mrs was trying to get me a Busty Boobs cake from Tesco, she did threaten me with it if I didn't pick a cake. However Tesco being Tesco they either didn't have or in one case didn't know what she was talking about!
Sunday: Worked again.
So a year older and a year wiser. For a change I do actually feel a bit more mature. I just wonder if that's me thinking some things/people are beneath commenting on or whether I'm getting old!
