Sean Jr is finally here. I am all excited that he is here at last. Though he keeps me up a lot of the night until like midnight or 11:30 and then he sleeps throughout the night and only wakes up twice a night which is good it gives me time to sleep at night and he sleeps pretty much all day which gives me times to take naps if he keeps me up all night. He is very cute though, he looks a lot like his daddy. He is so adorable and he stole my heart from the minute he was born.
He has blond brown hair and blue gray eyes right now and he is a little cutie. He was born April 17th 2009 at 5:20 in the morning. He was 7 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long.
Now Sean Jr. and I are just laying around waiting for his daddy to come home from work. Unfortunately even though Sean Jr., mommy and daddy didn't come home from the hospital until yesterday his daddy had to go to work today.
The day Sean Jr. was born was a scary day. I had been having contractions all that night and finally had had enough of them about 3:30 in the morning and decided it was time to go to the hospital. When I got to the hospital I was 3 to 4 centimeters dilated and the hospital decided to keep me. After being in the hospital for about I think 15 to 20 minutes the baby's heart beat dipped once so they put me in all sorts of positions to move the baby because they thought that he might be on his cord. His heart beat went up so the doctors went about their marry way getting me ready and about 15 minutes later his heart beat dropped again. They tried to get me to change my position again but his heart beat wouldn't go back up so they decided to break my water seeing if that would make his heart beat go back up or not. Then they asked me if I knew what Meconium was and I was like no and the doctor was like it is when the baby has a bowel movement while he is still inside of you and all I thought was oh no this isn't happening.
So they rushed me over to the Operating room and told me that they were going to have to do a C-Section as long as I said it was okay and I was like I don't care just get him out as safely as humanly possible. So they prepared me for the C-Section and then finally let my mom in after they numbed me from the breast bone down, then three minutes later Sean Jr. was born.
It wasn't until like 5 maybe 10 minutes after his birth I got to hear his first cry. They brought him over to me and I got to see him for a little bit and then they took him out to see his daddy. After they got me into my room they gave me Sean Jr. to hold for like 15 minutes and then they took him away from me for like 6 hours to put him in the ICN (Intensive Care Nursery) because he had managed to inhale a lot of the Meconium that and when he was born he was covered in it from head to toe and his cord was green. But anyways by about 10:30 I was getting really upset because I wanted my baby back and they weren't giving him back to me so his daddy went into the ICN and took pictures of him to prove to me that it wasn't all some weird dream that the baby was real and everything. At about 11:15 they finally brought him into the room and I was so happy to finally hold my baby.
I didn't let them take Sean Jr. at all except for like twice on the last day because I was too afraid to let him out of my sight. But now he is home and all better so I am very happy. It was a traumatic day and after all that happened right now I would seriously question my sanity if I decided I wanted more kids. |
