So, Thanksgiving was a sucess. The drive over the mountains was uneventful both ways. Yeah we had wind and rain and a little snow in the rain but everything was cleared off the roads, we didn't have any ice that I saw or experienced and we made great time. The weather while we were in Bend was awesome, usually in the high 50's during the day and in the 30's at night. We didn't have any snow while we were there, but all the stuff I bought for Garret and me will come in handy sometime, so I'm not worried about it. Jon and Garret had one major tiff and a few little ones, but I let him handle it because it was between them and it turned out ok. He even complimented me on how I handled a seperate situation and that made me feel like things are really making progress in getting Garret turned around into a good young man, instead of the terror that he is some of the time. Met most of Jon's family at the dinner, had a great time, really hit it off with his sister and SIL, who is the one that took us horseback riding at the stables she helps at. It was so exciting and Garret was just off the wall and such a natural. I really got to find some way to get back over there more cause
Tami is insistent that we ride more and she offered to help pay for gas so I'll see what I can do. I haven't seen Garret take to something like this before, but I also have to admit that he hasn't ever had the opportunity to do anything else before either, so that a big factor in his response. I wish I had the money to get him into some type of sports or swimming or something, but there just isn't any to spare. Almost done with my first Bachelors level class, wasn't hard at all, just different, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up with an A, so that will really help in bringing up my GPA. Haven't been working as hard as I would like on my business but with all this homework and travel, I've got to get crackin, I only have 3 more days to make director if I want my $500 check in December and with the $1 promotion still going, I really need to take advantage of it and see how many people I can help. So much to do, so little time, maybe I'll just stop sleeping, since I'm having trouble sleeping anyways. Really wish I could get insurance so I could get that and other things taken care of. Oh well, back to the grind of homework and all that lovely stuff my life is made up of. |
