just heading to bed and popped into FB for a quick check and I find a message waiting for me, from Matt, saying that after tonight he may not have a place to live and possibly needs to cut the weekend short and could I maybe pick Garret up early so he can go looking for an apartment. I'm totally confused so I pop over to his page and he has posted that he's broken off his engagement (they were less than 3 months away from getting married) and that he has to leave the house tomorrow, if possible to find another place to live and he regrets throwing out all the duplicates of stuff they had, that now he doesn't have anything really his own to take to his own place (in that sentiment, his wording was very broken, you can tell he is very upset while writing this). How he's terribly upset and sad that in the morning he will have to tell Garret that they will be leaving and never coming back there, how he is letting him sleep through the night, not wanting to wake him from his peaceful sleep, though in the morning he will have to tell the cruel and painful truth and he dreads that. He doesn't say what happened to cause the break up, which rightly he shouldn't on FB, however, he does berate himself horribly and calls himself terrible names, so I can only assume that it was something on his part that caused the issue, though I can only speculate that at the moment until I hear otherwise from him. And it's terribly complicated because they had started joining their accounts, phone, etc. bought a car together a few weeks ago and all such that "married" type couples tend to do when they anticipate being together a long time and now they have to figure out how to untangle themselves. I feel sorry for him. I was really hoping that this time it would be the sure one, that things wouldn't end bad like they did the last few times, and yes, that means that he has been engaged quite a few times now, at least 3 times since he and I parted.
