Year in review, part 2: change is gon' come.

12/30/2008

April and May passed pretty much uneventfully and way too slowly.....i was so bored, and frustrated at my inability to get a job...and way frustrated by my lack of moneys.

but a friend of mine had planted an idea in my head, Tony was in his second year at Algonquin College and i hadn't really considered going back to school, my grades were so shitty in high school that i doubted i'd be able to get in, but little did i know that as a mature student it's much easier to get it. So i started the process with little hope of actual success.

to make ends meet i picked up an uber-shitty job doing phone surveys, there weren't too many days i didn't want to shoot myself in the head doing that.....talk about misery. but it had some redeeming qualities i met some cool people there.

but i'm getting ahead, had some fun at Cangames won the Warmachine tournament, which was pretty cool although not much of a challenge since a lot of the players were new...still a win is a win, and gold Champion coins are teh winz!

i did greatly enjoy following the race for the white house...Obama vs Clinton was fascinating to watch.

Some other neat stuffs happened, Jasmin was (at the time, rather desperately it seemed) to find a place and not having a great deal of success or luck, but i managed to do some matchmaking and get her a place, and helped out another friend (Jackie) who equally desperately needed to sublet her place for a couple of months.

I talked about the redeeming qualities of my crap job (OSI) well i did meet Ruby and a couple of other cool folks. Ah but Ruby my little sister...one of those folks you meet and in a very short time can't imagine your life without that person in it. We became very close in a very short space of time and it's a friendship i'm truly grateful for and (dare i say) blessed by.

I also finally ended up meeting Jasmin in person, and (no surprise to me) she was equally awesome in person than was her on-line persona. I was delighted by how easy it was (and still is) to talk to her.

and things to my great suprise continued to proceed well for my college applications, not only was i admitted but i was able to secure funding as well, and just like that i was all set to begin in September.....
