Okay, friends, I'm going to go on a wee bit of a tangent here.
We are currently living in uncertain times right now. We all know this. I keep saying this over and over, but I understand how much isolation sucks!! This is hard. I feel it. I'm a people person, I love being around others!
HOWEVER, I also understand that we absolutely NEED to do this in order to flatten the curve! We're constantly being told that the only way to beat this is by distancing ourselves. So why in the actual
fuck are people still getting together in groups?! I'm on Tinder. And it seems like every other guy that I talk to is telling me about how they're still getting together with their friends because "well, we're not sick". ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? I mean, I sincerely hope they're not, but that's literally how the fricken thing spreads.
Ultimately it comes down to this: the longer people are not practicing social distancing, the longer we're going to have to do this. Read that again. Even if you feel like you won't be hit hard (and I really hope you don't) this is bigger than just the individual. We're doing this for the elderly, those with compromised immune systems, those that are pregnant, literally anyone who is vulnerable! Those of us that are young and generally healthy people will more than likely get through it with little difficulty (I do say "more than likely" because nothing is promised), but if we have this and pass it onto someone vulnerable, they may not.
I beg of you, PLEASE don't think of only yourself. Think of those that can be affected the hardest. Think of your own grandma and grandpa. You wouldn't want anything to happen to them, so please don't put anothers grandparent at risk.
Stay safe and wash your hands!
